Lemoore is a small town in the Central Coast region of California. It is located on the south bank of the Sacramento River, about 15 miles east of downtown Sacramento. The population was 7,521 at the 2010 census. The name Lemoore comes from Spanish and means "place where there is fruit trees." The first Europeans to visit this area were members ofCaptain John Smith's expedition who landed here on May 1, 1797. After exploring parts of California they named this spot for José de la Luz y Ayala, captain aboard HMS Discovery during that voyage. On December 12, 1824 United States Senator James K. Polk delivered a speech before a joint session of Congress in which he referred to Lemoore as "the most important post in Californias [sic]." In 1848 General Sutter founded the city blocks now known as Golden Gate Park within what was then part of Lemoore Township. In 1912 A&P Stores bought land in Lemoore and began developing it into one of the largest department stores in Northern California A&P later merged with JCPenney to form Macy's Corporation Macy's closed its doors forever in 1984 but was reborn as Neiman Marcus
The National Guard has been a part of the United States since its inception. The first national guard unit was organized on April 14, 1775, in response to the Quebec Regiment's attack on Fort Duquesne. In 1861, when President Abraham Lincoln called for more men to be drafted into the military in order to help suppress the Confederate war effort, he also called for a National Guard division to be raised specifically for this purpose. On July 1, 1861, President James Buchanan signed an act making the National Guard a permanent part of the U.S. military and authorizing its creation within each state. The first units were mustered into service on August 15th and served through 1862 and 1863. During World War II, there was an increase in patriotic sentiment in America as patriotism shifted from neutrality to support of the United States during the war. Because of this shift, it became necessary for Congress to pass legislation authorizing each state militia to become subject to federal jurisdiction if they were called upon by federal authorities to do so-an event that would later be known as “regulation” or “readmission” of units back into state militias under federal control. This authorization eventually led to expanded operations by both local andnational guardsmen throughout World War II such as providing manpower for projects such as inland water crossings and airfields across country or leading anti-aircraft artillery missions against Nazi Germany. In 1971, after years of planning and controversy over what role national guard troops should play in American policing efforts during times of civil unrest or emergency (i.e., Black Power protests),[1] Congress passed Public Law 93-173 which established unambiguous rules governing how national guard troops should behave while performing their functions within society at large; these rules included prohibitions against any form of discrimination against members based on their race or ethnicity (including but not limited to arrest without probable cause), use excessive force while arresting citizens (!), using firearms while conducting law enforcement activities (!), wearing badges or insignia bearing Federal government logos except during exercises/training purposes (!), engaging in recreational vehicle travel (" Recreational Vehicle Travel ", hereafter RVT ), participating in any type of political activity other than peaceful demonstrations (!), etcetera etcetera! These laws continue into present day with some changes made every few years due primarily To changing social norms however most are still very clear cut!

Lemoore is a small town in Kern County, California. The population was 1,351 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1866 by the Lemoore and Bakersville Rail Road company as a station on the Butterfield Overland Mail route from Los Angeles to San Francisco. The railroad stopped operations in 1869, but the town continued to grow until it had a population of 5,000 in 1940. The Lemoore post office opened on December 3, 1866, and closed on January 7, 1971. The first store was built on Main Street in 1870. A second store was built on First Street in 1875; both stores were destroyed by fire in 1903. The third store (built 1916) is still standing and is used as a garage today. Lemoore has several historical buildings including the Presbyterian Church (1868), Masonic Lodge No. 2 (1870), United States Post Office (1906), Leland Stanford Junior University Library Annex (1910), and Leland Stanford High School Gymnasium (1936). A few other buildings are also notable such as the public school system's Lemoore Elementary School which was built 1912-14 and renovated in 2005-2006 and now serves grades Pre-K through 8th grade with an additional classroom for special needs students; Lemoore Middle School which served grades 9-12 from 1949 to 1984 before being replaced by present day Lemoore High School; Rancho Adobe Home Historic District which includes many contributing ranchos dating back to 1850s; Southern Pacific Railroad Depot - which is now home to local businesses including Butte Tavern Sports Bar & Grill and Casino - it was once located adjacent to Lemoore High School along Third Street; and Donnybrook Park which offers enjoyment for children throughout summer months as well as tennis courts, playgrounds/restaurants, ball fields/campsites etc., all located within close proximity of one another making it easy for residents of all ages to get involved or enjoy some local activities while living close by!
Lemoore was founded in 1847 by Captain John C. Fremont and his wife, Eliza G. Richards. The town was named for Lorenzo Lemoore, an early settler who helped build the first railroad in California. In 1911, Lemoore became a city and was incorporated as a county seat.
