The Lemoore Rifle Company was started in Lemoore in 1892 by Captain Hiram Weinstock and his brother-in-law Amos White. The company manufacturing rifles for the United States Army during World War I and World War II. In 1951, the Lemoore Rifle Company merged with Winchester Arms Corporation to become Winchester Repeating Arms Company (WRA). In 1966, WRA acquired Alliant Techsystems Inc., which made high performance digital fire control systems for firearms. In 2003, Winchester Repeating Arms Company merged withBrowning firearms company to form Browning pistols and revolvers division (B&R), which continued to produce handguns until 2009 when it merged into Glock AG. As of 2019, WRA produces over 100 different firearms models under its brands including Ruger (Ruger Model 8223/22 rifle/ shotgun), Smith & Wesson (S&W Model 40/45 revolver/handgun), Colt Python (.357 Magnum) and Sig Sauer P226 9mm pistol/.380 ACP ammunition products; as well as reloading supplies such as Norma Ammunition Corp's SPX ammunition and Wolf ammo among others.

Lemoore is a city located in Kern County, California. Lemoore was founded in 1876 by John T. Wright and named for his friend, Lorenzo Roe. The city was originally populated by stagecoaches and other travelers who stopped at the nearby San Joaquin River for water and goods. In 1907, the first electric streetcar service ran through Lemoore. In 1916, Lemoore became the first city to have its own police department when Captain George Kelling created it from what had been the Kern County Sheriff’s Department. The city has experienced many changes over its history including becoming an agricultural center during World War II; experiencing a rapid growth during the 1960s; and being known as a bedroom community for the Bay Area during the 1990s.
Lemoore was founded on July 3, 1853 by John C. Fremont and post office operator James W. Marshall as the town of Lemoore, California. The name was changed to Lemoore on October 1, 1854 when the first nitrate mine opened in the town. The town had a population of about 100 people by 1860. A school was built in 1865 and a jail in 1868. In 1870, a post office and store were established in what is now Lemoore City Hall Park with a population of about 150 people. A flour mill was started in 1872 but never completed; it is reported that the miller went bankrupt. A sawmill began operation in 1876 but stopped operations due to low demand for wood after only three months of operation; it is said that the sawmill cost $2,000 to build and operate. A fire destroyed most of the town center on November 15, 1886 which caused some social unrest which may have contributed to its eventual dissolution two years later. In 1889, a new water supply system was built which increased profits for local businesses; however this also led to an increase in property values which caused many small businesses to fail over time. By 1893, there were only 10 active businesses remaining out of a total population of 400 people living within walking distance of each other without transportation or available resources for trading goods or services among them The last resident left Lemoore on December 2nd 1893 when they closed down their business because they could not compete with larger towns nearby such as San Francisco and Los Angeles providing better jobs opportunities
