Air Force Deployed Gift History in Lincoln, California In October of 1952, the Air National Guard’s 1st Bombardment Wing stationed at Lackland AFB, Texas became the first USAF unit to deployment in support of Operation Jump Start. The Wing was ordered to deploy from their home base and fly into North Korea as part of a secret operation to gain intelligence on communist nuclear weapons development. Upon arrival in Korea, the 1BW quickly began operations providing cover for !ndustrial Aviation units as they transported supplies and personnel throughout the country. The Wing would remain deployed through most of 1953 conducting airlift missions to various Locations including Pyongyang, Chongjin, Wonsan and Namyangju. It is during this time that we can appreciate some of the unique gifts that were sent our way by members of the Air Force. A few examples include an F-86L Sabre jet fighter; a T-6 Texan trainer; a KC-135 Stratotanker tanker; an EC-121 Constellation spy plane; and even a set of golf clubs! It is interesting to note that many these items were not simply given as presents but instead had been carefully chosen by individuals who knew their significance within the Air National Guard community.

Lincoln, California is a small town located in Inyo County, California. It is the only incorporated city in Inyo County. The population was 2,408 at the 2010 census. Lincoln was founded in 1848 by John Cranch and his brother-in-law David Dudley as Lodi. It was renamed Lincoln after President Abraham Lincoln when it became part of Yuba County. The first post office opened in 1851 and the first store was built in 1854. The community had a population of just over 100 people when it lost its status as an incorporated city on July 1, 1959. Lincoln has since become a ghost town with no residents remaining from its original population of around 150 people. There are several mysteries connected to this ghost town including the disappearances of many local citizens during the late 1800s, early 1900s and into the 1940s; however all investigations have been unsuccessful in solving these mysteries. In response to popular demand for more information about thisghosttown, Google Earth released an updated map showing every building and structure within Lincoln City limits as well as aerial photos taken between 1957-2009 which provide some insight into why there haven't been any recent updates to this dataset from Google or anyone else involved in research into Lincolnton's history or residents
