The Lincoln County Coast Guard was founded in 1935. The first coastal guard station was located at Point Reyes National Seashore on the south coast of San Francisco Bay. In 1940, the Coast Guard moved to its present location at De Anza Beach on the north coast of Santa Barbara County. The Coast Guard has a staff of more than 1400 officers and men who are responsible for providing law enforcement and emergency services along California's coasts. Today, the Coast Guard provides an important service to both local communities and visitors to our state. Ourlake is one of our primary missions - to provide security for people and goods on our coastline. We also offer a variety of recreational Programs that include fishing, boating,Jet skiing & snowboarding; as well as lifesaving programs such as search and rescue, marine detection/tracking,and aviation monitoring.

Since California became a state in 1850, its history and culture have been deeply intertwined with that of the United States. One of the oldest settlements in California was Lincoln, located on the banks of the Sacramento River, now part of Sacramento County. The town was founded by Isaac Perkins in 1847 as a transient stop on his journey from Illinois to become governor of California. A year later, he donated land to make up for any financial losses incurred during his ill-fated attempt at becoming governor. Lincoln served as president of the California State Board of Education from 1859 to 1861. He also served as chairman ofuezthe San Francisco Bay Bridge Commission from 1892 to 1895 and as mayor of San Francisco from 1886 to 1890. In addition, he is recognized as one of America's most successful politicians – he was twice elected President (1861 and 1865) and twice U.S. senator (1849-51 and 1860-64). When President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in 1865, California had not yet formed its own government. The Territory of California was divided among the six U.S. states on January 6, 1866, and with it came responsibility for governing Californias western lands. Lincoln’s death created an opening for George W. Dixon as the new territorial governor and Dixon quickly took advantage of it by proposing a bill to create a state in California. The effort failed but Dixon's successors did manage to get a measure passed in 1872 that provided for the admission of Californias newly formed state into the Union as the 26th state. Over time, however, problems emerged between various parts of California over issues such as land acquisition and governance. A series of conflicts led to violence and political instability which culminated inLOS ANGELES Rebellion (1877-1879). This period is best known for Demonstrations against military rule that ultimately resulted in four days of heavy fighting at Los Angeles City Hall between federal soldiers and local insurgents before finally being suppressed by General Pershing
Lincoln was founded by prospectors in 1847. The town was named after John Lincoln, one of the original investors in the town. The first post office was established in 1848 and the first store opened in 1850. In 1861, Abraham Lincoln became president of the United States and the town changed its name to Lincoln. The city was incorporated on July 1, 1923.
