The Lincoln National Guard gift history in California dates back to the early days of statehood. The Lincoln National Guard was one of the first units to be organized in California and it has been a part of the state’s defense system ever since. The Lincoln National Guard was formed on October 1, 1861, when Governor John C. Fremont called for a militia regiment to protectCalifornia from possible Confederate attack. The first unit to respond was the 103rd Regiment, which arrived in Sacramento on October 3. The Richardson-Patterson Commission reported that “There is no doubt but that this force would have proved most useful during any emergency which shall call for its services; and we are much indebted to those gentlemen who recommended its organization.” On November 5, 1861, the 100th California Infantry Regiment was organized at San Francisco and given orders to march eastward towards Sacramento under command of Colonel John Richardson. On November 11, 1861, President Abraham Lincoln called for all states with militias or volunteer forces to contribute their soldiers into the Union Army under General Ulysses S. Grant’s command as part of his overall strategy known as “the Great War”. The Lincoln National Guard responded quickly and upon arrival at Camp Perry near Sacramento on November 13th they were assigned their first mission: Protection of Assembly Hall from vandalism by pro-Confederate sympathizers

National Guard units have been in Lincoln, California since the early 1800s. The first national guard unit to arrive in the area was Company A of the 1st Infantry Regiment on January 1, 1846. The regiment served under General George C. Marshall during World War I and the II World War. After the war, Company A disbanded but their members were re-organized into Company B on December 15, 1922. Company B was redesignated as Battalion H on October 2, 1945 and then as Brigade H on November 17, 1951. On February 8, 1959 Companies C & D were transferred from Battalion H to Brigade H and became part of the 9th Infantry Division stationed in San Diego County. In 1974 District 3 (Lincoln) National Guard Unit #2 arrived in Lincoln with assistance from the Air National Guard’s 194th Tactical Wing Headquarters detachment which had been activated at Chula Vista AFB south of Los Angeles. This unit supported local law enforcement while also providing a reserve force for events such as parades and holidays throughout Southern California. District 3’s first major event took place when federal troops descended upon Chula Vista to clear out civil unrest after passage of Proposition 13 by voters in 1978. On July 10, 1984 District 3’s second National Guard Unit #1 arrived with support from Fighter Wing Two at Imperial Beach AB with orders to provide airlift for local law enforcement during high school graduation ceremonies held there that year only days before statehood celebrations marking 50 years since California became a U.S.-state occurred at Wilshire Auditorium in downtown Los Angeles attended by Gov Jerry Brown and other dignitaries including then-President Reagan

Lincoln, California is a small town in the San Joaquin Valley of California. It was founded in 1848 by the Mormons and named for Abraham Lincoln, who had been elected President that year. The community grew quickly due to its proximity to the railroad and its location on a main route between Sacramento and Stockton. In 1859, it became part of the new counties of Tillamook and Curry, which were organized from portions of Kern and Tuolumne Counties. In 1872, Lincoln was incorporated as a city. The population reached 1,500 in 1920 but declined to 600 by 1960. On October 14, 1903, President Theodore Roosevelt issued an executive order creating a permanent system for organizing and arming national guards throughout America while also authorizing appropriations to support this program through annual appropriations Acts. These new developments led to increased military spending by both Roosevelts and other presidents up until World War II when programs were decreased due to wartime budgetary limitations. Since 9/15/1792- present day: - In 1960 (60 years), Congress passed legislation which provided that all states be allocated an allotmentivalent amount of federal money specifically earmarked for activation and training of state's National Guardsmen under section 104(a)of Title 10 U.S Code - 1963 (63 years), president Lyndon B Johnson signed Executive Order 12938 which amended 10 U.S Code § 7303(c) authorizing activated reserve members from participating in any criminal or disciplinary proceedings brought against them before any court martial or tribunal outside of their home state - 1978 (78 years), president Jimmy Carter signed Executive Order 13446 establishing a direct line between DOD Headquarters and all 50 states' Military Departments; this order authorized commanders at each Military Department command centers to share intelligence information with state militias concerning terrorist activity

Lincoln is a small town located in Inyo County, California. It was founded by Levi Lincoln in 1879 and named after his father, Abraham Lincoln. The town has a population of about 1,500 people. The first post office in Lincoln was established in 1881. The present building was built in 1907 and is a two-story wood frame structure with a gable roof. It features an entrance porch with Ionic columns and three arches for the support of gables that might have been added by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Lincoln is known for its annual Christmas parade which starts at 5 p.m., walks down Cherry Street to Granada Hills Boulevard where it turns left heading to Stagecoach Square, then continues on Granada Hills Boulevard back to Cherry Street, ending at the square where the parade begins again at 5:30 p.m.. In 1915, when World War I began, Lincoln had 100 men who served in the Active Army and 50 men who served in the National Guard; both services were disbanded after the war ended without any blood being shed within their respective communities or townsfolk serving on either side of the conflict. However, due to its location just south of Angels Camp during World War II (due east of Fresno), Lincoln played host to over 10 military installations and more than 2 million troops from all over North America as part of Project Signals intelligence gathering operation code named "Doodlebug".Inyo County CA - 1915
According to local legend, when President Franklin D Roosevelt visited Inyo County during WWII he announced that he would continue funding Project Signals even though there were no longer any troops stationed here because "the boys know best."
