In 1915 Lodi became one of two towns in Inyo County that were annexed into Los Angeles County as part of the deal that created Riverside County. At its peak during World War II it had a population of over 100,000 people but declined rapidly after the war ended. Today most Lodis live within easy reach of downtown Los Angeles or other large metropolitan areas
