Lodi, California (population: 20,000) is a small city in Northern California. It is located on the edge of the Mojave Desert and is bordered by Nevada to the east, Arizona to the south-west, and Baja California to the north. Lodi was founded in 1887 as a small town on Rancho San Antonio de los Caballeros Mexican land grant. The name "Lodi" means "place of many flowers." In 1911, Lodi merged with neighboring Redding and became one municipality. The history of Lodi can be traced back to 1887 when rancho San Antonio de los Caballeros was granted to José María Cámpora from Spain by then-President of Mexico Manuel Micheltorena. After years of negotiation and buying out other claimants, in 1892 Josefina Valenzuela acquired title over about 21 square miles (55 km²) including present-day Lodi from Chapultepec estate owner Don Miguel Bardot for $10 per acre ($2/ha). Settlement began within a few weeks with twenty families coming downcountry from Sinaloa and Durango to take up new grants near Las Vegas Valley. In 1911, after merging with nearby Redding while still an unincorporated community, Lodi became one municipality with a population of 10 residents. That same year saw significant growth due to World War I when military camps were established here such as Camp Kearny on BLM land just east of town (now known as Offutt Air Force Base). When the war ended in 1918, much of what had been built up since 1892 reverted back to agricultural use but some new development occurred during this time including several stores and two hotels that remain today: One at 601 N First St., now called Bankers Trust Plaza; and another at 5th & Stockton Streets which later became part of Apple Inc.'s headquarters until it vacated it in 1997 for office space occupied by Google Earth before being redeveloped into residential buildings again. During the 1920s through 1940s there were major changes taking place in Southern California due largely to Prohibition which led local farmers into production Alameda County's first commercial vineyards starting around 1915 followed soon thereafter by wineries throughout Los Angeles County although only single Winery District No 1 opened up shop west of downtown Los Angeles between 1921-1925 despite efforts thereto made by then Mayor Tom Bradley who wanted all wine production within downtown business district only under new auspices as part of overall plan called Aartman Plan whereby no industry should outgrow its original municipally sponsored zones thereby creating competition Doheny Canyon Vineyards producing whites only initially though eventually becoming open source producer tasting room operation serving modern grape tasters nationwide started operations early 1990’s adjacent property improvements whole area full Bloomfield Hills section now home Grapeseed Farms LLC

Lodi is a small city located in the Mojave Desert of California. The City of Lodi was established on December 1, 1853, when it was platted as part of the larger Rancho La Brea Mexican land grant. The first post office in Lodi opened in 1855. Lodi became an incorporated city on February 22, 1912. It was named for Lorenzo de la Hoz, governor of New Mexico from 1847 to 1850 and United States senator from California from 1850 to 1857. The De Soto Expedition passed through Lodi on their way down the Sierra Nevada during their 1769-1770 journey across North America. In 1863, General John Custer's 7th Cavalry Regiment stopped at Lodi while en route to attack the Union army at Washoe Valley in Nevada Territory. On November 3, 1865, Ulysses S Grant issued an orderfcstablishing Fort Fillmore within reach of Salt Lake City byrailroads just south of town limits. From 1861 until 1862 a detachment of Ulysses S. Grant's command served as military police at Lodi while they built new barracks for the Sacramento battalion Artillery stationed there at nearby Yuba River Barracks (now known as Point San Luis Obispo). Named after General George Armstrong Custer who fought with cavalry unit #4 Ulysses S. Grant's Raid eastward along I-5 corridor in October 1875 near milepost well below Riddle Ranch Headquarters about 20 miles west and northwest of Fillmore; this raid is also generally considered one ol Grant's most significant accomplishments during his presidency
Lodi is located in the San Joaquin Valley and was founded by Mexicans in 1846. It became an agricultural center during the late 19th century, thanks to its fertile land and river access. In addition to agriculture, Lodi also became a manufacturing center for goods such as shoes, clothing, and automobiles.
