Loma Linda is a small town in Riverside County, California. It is located on the western edge of San Bernardino County and it is about an hour's drive from Los Angeles. The town was founded in 1887 by Lutheran missionaries from Germany as a missionary base for their work in the Central Valley of California. In 1914, Loma Linda became an agricultural college and then a research center for various agricultural products such as cotton, rice, and potatoes. The university moved to its current location on Mount Hope Road in 1965. Today, Loma Linda University offers several undergraduate and graduate programs as well as professional degrees and training programs in many different fields including computer science, nursing, business administration, engineering, health sciences, law enforcement/firefighting/judicial system services etc.

Loma Linda is a small city in northern California, located on the east side of the state. It is the largest city in Orange County and one of the most populous cities in Los Angeles County. The population was 106,372 as of 2010. The name "Loma Linda" comes from Spanish meaning "hillock" or "peak." The first people to settle at Loma Linda were Native Americans who hunted and gathered wild plants near the confluence of two rivers. They built their homes on high bluffs overlooking both rivers. In 1824, Hiram Bingham founded what is now Binghamton University and named his college after Loma Linda's peak. This event marked a turning point for Lomas Linda as it became an agricultural center with many farmers coming to study agriculture. In 1881, Josefina Cisneros gave birth to her only child at Loma Linda Hospital while she was being treated for tuberculosis which had kept her confined to her room for six months. She later married Drs. Emilio Gomez and Francisco Perez, both physicians from Southern California, and they moved back to their native Mexico City where Josefina soon died from tuberculosis again. After her death, Francisco married Félicita Sánchez de la Vega and they moved back to Lomas Linda where he continued his medical practice until his death in 1951. They are buried together at Elmwood Cemetery in downtown Lomas Linda. After World War II ended, more people came to live in Lomas Linda including veterans returning home from combat services in Asia and Europe (the GI baby boom). Many businesses were established during this time such as Kress Corporation which manufactured kitchen appliances then sold them across America; American Weighing Machine Company which made scales used by grocery stores; Southland Milk & Sales Company which produced milk products for local consumption; Apple Incorporated which developed computers then sold them through direct sales channels; AutoZone Corporation which manufactured automotive parts then sold them nationwide; Cinemark Theatres International Incorporated developing movie theaters throughout Southern California before selling them off to other companies after experiencing financial difficulty due primarily to Hollywood Studio moves during that time period
