The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is the naval warfare service branch of the Department of Defense responsible for the acquisition, development and fielding of Navy weapons and systems. The NAVSEA mission is to possess a combat ready fleet through committed shipbuilding, operations and maintenance. In addition to its weapon system responsibilities, NAVSEA also provides maritime security services with law enforcement capabilities. Since World War II, Lomita has been home to two navies: the United States Naval Forces Southern California (USNFSOC) from 1942 until 1945 when it was transferred to the United States Marine Corps; and the Soviet Union's Northern Fleet from 1949 until its dissolution in 1991. These fleets were collectively known as "the Pacific Fleet." The first major military installation in Lomita was USNFSOC's Camp Pendleton onshore in 1942 followed by RAF Molesworth airfield in 1944. The USS Constitution-class drydock at Long Beach began construction in 1947 and was finished in 1951. This facility would be used for many years as an staging area for amphibious warfare operations during both World Wars before becoming a major port of entry for SEAL Team 6 operation during Operation Neptune Spear. In 1969, NAVSEA acquired FMF John F Kennedy Dry Dock Complex at Newport News Shipbuilding & Drydocks Incorporated which would become one of the most famous navy yards in America because it produced all USS Enterprise class destroyers includingUSS Nimitz (CVN 68), USS Reagan (CVN 74), USS Pittsburg (CVL 73), USS Yorktown (CVSE 71). This yard produced over 1,000 vessels including submarines including SSBN 915/Sputnik 2 operated by USSR under contract from Lockheed Martin Corporation.. As part of this production line, ships were built using three different technologies: gas-fired turbines using CO2 storage technology; electric propulsion using oil or nuclear power; and aluminum alloy construction being conducted simultaneously across three sites resulting in a ship that could operate anywhere at any time thanks to its modular design! In 1992, NAVSEA purchased FMF Samuel Eliot Morison Pier #4 off central Point Reyes Light House coastline which would become homeported afloatendant dockyard Yarrows Yards Incorporation which would produce all future surface combatants includingUSS Enterprise CVNs 70-74 as well as two new classes of guided missile frigates HMS Doverford(GMD 903) and HMS Cornwallis(GMD 898). This yard produced over 270 vessels such as submarines SSBN 914/Sputnik 3 operated by Russian Federation under contract from Northrop Grumman Corporation.; minesweepers HMAS St Vincent(Minesweeper destroyer 721) operating out of Perth Australia; helicopter carrier HMAS Melbourne HCDR 771 flying out of Brisbane Australia; containerized assault transport ship Kearsarge CATS 511 flying out of Tacoma Washington Territory serving duties along side Landing Craft Airborne soon after her commissioning;; corvette HMAS Ashore CVAH 605 based out of Townsville Queensland Australia performing anti-piracy patrols off Somalia.; guided missile frigate HMS Ocean HCDR 970 based at Portsmouth England conducting anti-submarine patrols off Sri Lanka.; merchant tanker MV Victory Gloriosa MCAGNES chartered by Norwegian Cruise Lines operating between Mayotte Island EuropeA&B and Madagascar Service Area - supporting humanitarian relief efforts following natural disasters such as hurricanes Katrina & Rita while providing fuel supplies to help transit these areas.; hospital cargo vessel MV Miracle Medical Center CGVCR tows stricken whales off southern California during whale watching season2009.)

Lomita (formerly Pomona and La Cañada Flintridge) is a city in southern Orange County, California, United States. The population was 32,865 at the 2010 census. Lomita is located on the eastern edge of OC's Inland Empire and is bordered by Riverside County to the south and east, San Bernardino County to the north and west, and Menifee Valley to the northwest. The area now known as Lomita was first populated by Tongva people who lived on an island in what is now called Pomona Creek. The Tongva left when white men arrived in 1769 along with other settlers from Mission San Gabriel Arcangelico in Southern California. The first European settlement was made onshore near what is now known as Belleview Avenue. A brewery called "The Brewery" opened in 1872 and remains open today as a museum with beer samples from around the world. In 1876, businessman George Hearst founded Hearst Ranch which included land for a new town that would be named after him - Hearst City. He hoped to attract workers for his new ranch empire while also developing supplies needed for growing citrus fruit crops within easy access of his holdings. The first building constructed in Hearst City were shops, a jail, a hotel and some residences; however these were not popular with local residents who preferred their own closer-to-the-city amenities such as churches and schools. By 1880, much of what are now downtown Lomita had been built including the original Congregational church which still stands today (complete with gift shop), Business Row (later renamed Holtzbrinck Plaza), Post Office Square (now home to several businesses including Sears & Roebuck), Hearst Arena (now used as parking lot for nearby businesses)and most importantly Harner Park where many of today's neighborhoods began developing - North Lakeshore being one of them! A year later saw the opening of another business park - Cimarron Park - that became home to scores of small businesses before merging into larger structures over time like People’s United Bank Stadium which still stands today across from Harbor Freight Mallard Place! All this activity led up to what we know today as Downtown Lomita! Downtown Lomita quickly became center stage due mostly to its location - right next door to Harner Park – making it easily accessible for shopping, dining out or just taking walks around its namesake park! It wasn't until after World War II when things really picked up pace with development happening all around town like Plummer Street becoming home to more than 50 small businesses before eventually evolving into Today's Town plaza where major retailers like Macy’s() / Neiman Marcus(), JCPenney(), Sears(), Kmart() / Sam’s Club() are headquartered! Today there are plenty of restaurants choices available such as Union Pacific adjacent Dune View Boulevard or Novo Latino down Centennial Boulevard if you're looking for something more mainstream although both enjoy national coverage on TV!. Additionally there are numerous smaller stores dotting every nook & cranny throughout Downtown Lomita giving you endless options if you're looking for unique gifts or items unavailable anywhere else!. Although Downtown may be busy it never feels too crowded thanks largely to its plethora of public transportation options available including BART/ Subway/ Caltrain/ UberX().
The navy gift history goes back many years and has a variety of different items. One of the earliest gifts given to the navy was an oil lamp. This was given in 1814 as a kit to be installed in the USS Constitution, which was then the flagship of the navy. The first naval ship, HMS Victory, was commissioned in 1857 and it was decided that a gift for this new vessel would be an oil lamp. This is when the first set of navy lanterns were created. These lamps were made from brass and could be lit with a kerosene-soaked rag which also served as a light source. The first set of lanterns were distributed to all vessels in 1861. Later on, these lanterns became known as “Navy Lamps” because they used marine fuel instead of kerosene or gaslights which required lightering every night while underway. In 1933, Admiral Ramsay designed and ordered 350 custom made navy lamps with color changing bulbs for use aboard submarines during WWII called “Submarine Lanterns” These lamps were given out to submariners on board submarines throughout the war and are still being used today by submariners across America!

Lomita, California is a small town in the San Luis Obispo County of California. The population was 1,844 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Pacific Coast Highway west of Santa Cruz. The first permanent settler in Lomita was John Sloat in 1857. Lomita Creek and its associated land were patented to him by Governor Manuel Michelin in 1858. Lomita became a city on July 15, 1909, with incorporation from the unincorporated areas of Los Alamitos and San Miguel counties. On February 12, 1916 it passed a resolution ratifying US Public Land No. 822 which included portions of present-day Lomita as well as parts of present-day Arcata and Redondo Beach. The City also annexed portions of Carpinteria and Port Hueneme on December 1, 1922 . In 1926 part of Rancho Pastoria del Rey was sold to J.P.—John Prentice—for $1 million (the ranch had been part of Mexico until 1898). This purchase made Lomita one of the largest agricultural towns in Southern California because it gave Mr.—Jorge Prentice—a significant pieceof Mexican American agricultural history for his family's descendants to keep alive for many years to come
Lomita was a small, unincorporated community in Ventura County, California. It was located on the south coast of Ventura county, about halfway between Santa Paula and Oxnard. Lomita had one post office from 1930 to 1940.
