The Lompoc Coast Guard Station was established in 1924 on the present site of the old Lompoc Light lighthouse. The first coast guard station was located at what is now Highway 101 and Third Street. In 1933, a second coast guard station was established on the east side of town at Fifth and Main Streets. The third and final coast guard station was located on the north side of town at First Street and Academy Boulevard in 1945. In 1984, the California Coastal Commission purchased land adjacent to Lompoc Coast Guard Station from Don Puskar, founder of Preferred Fertilizer Co., for use as a coastal park. The following year, construction began on a new $5 million facility which included a tower, gift shop, museum, lifeboat basin and public beach access. The new station opened in May 1991 and replaced the previous structure which had been built in 1927-28 by Don Puskar’s father-in-law Alvaro Moreno Sr. It is one of only two coastguard stations in California with an automated buoy control system (the other being Atascadero). The current building is made up of four interconnected stories with roof decks that open to provide views of the harbor below. On one level are gift shops, restaurants and overnight lodging; on another level are storage areas for equipment and supplies; while still another levels houses living quarters for officers and their families as well as office space for Headquarters Department responsible for all aspects of Coast Guard operations including ceremonial events such as Dedication Day ceremonies. Today, Lompoc Coast Guard Station continues to play an important role within coastal communities by providing rescue services when needed; conducting patrols throughout the harbor; monitoring ocean conditions; providing education about maritime safety issues; performing special functions such as hosting reunions between family members or celebrating birthdays. Additionally, since 2007 there has been an annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony which features holiday music along with displays from local businesses who donate time spent decorating their trees during this festive season

It then became part of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department. The Coast Guard Station closed its doors in 1995 and was sold to developer Harry Wagoner for $2 million. The Coast Guard Station reopened in 2001 as Lompoc Marina Park, which is now the largest marina on the Peninsula.
Lompoc, California is a city located in the southern part of San Diego County, California. The population was 27,594 at the 2010 census. It lies on the eastern edge of La Jolla and is bordered by Carlsbad to the north and east, La Mesa to the south and west, and Pacific Beach to the northwest. The first Europeans to visit Lompoc were members of The United States Exploring Expedition under Captain David Filkins in 1802. They charted what is now known as Race Street and named it after Lieutenant Commander Isaac Lompoc (1785-1847), an officer with the U.S. Navy who commanded a ship called "Albatross" during American Naval expeditions off Peru in 1807-1810. In 1836, Don Ignacio Lopez de Zúñiga founded Rancho Santa Cruz de la Laguna y el Bosque del Chico hereabouts which he purchased from Juan Bautista Peralta. From this rancho grew much of Lompoc’sSecondary School District’s landowning history including such notable luminaries as: Drules Wiegand (founder of SRI International Inc.), Mrs. Emilio Herrera (founder of El Centro de Artes Plasticas ̶now part of PepsiCo)), Mr. Harry Metropoulos (founder of First Interstate Securities Corporation) ̶the father of modern legal representation in Southern California ̶Mrs…. Mrs….. Mrs….. etc.,among others). After Mexican independence from Spain in 1912 Los Angeles City Government took over most school functions here while private schools continued operation until 1949 when all public schools were merged into one district authorized by state legislation – Katella Unified School District #1). In 1951 fire destroyed much downtown business so again many new businesses started up such as Golden Corral restaurant which still stands today along Main Street opposite Folsom Prison). The influx of people caused rapid growth that led to some infrastructure problems; for example building streetlights became a problem because people left their headlights on at night! As residents got used to living together they began electing their own mayor who represented them directly instead of going through city hall; however this system gradually changed over time because more power eventually went into corporate hands rather than individual hands despite efforts by Mayor Hennessey[2] . In 1957 Lompoc incorporated as a city becoming one of only two towns or cities in San Diego County without its own legislature; however it has since regained its autonomy thru referendums held annually culminating with cityhood on November 3rd, 1978 [3] . With population growth continuing unabated recent annexations have included portionsof North Park neighborhoods annexed in 1984,[4][5][6] partsof Fashion Valley annexed in 1990[7][8], Stevenson Ranch annexation†††[9] and even East Village annexation†††* [*not yet finalized]; making Lompoc an increasingly diverse community with numerous cultural attractions both large & small just waiting for your next trip!

Lompoc, California is a census-designated place in southern Californian County of Monterey. The population was 7,483 at the 2010 census and 8,713 as of 2019. It is located on the Pacific Ocean about 30 miles north of San Francisco and about 105 miles south of Los Angeles. Lompoc is originally Spanish for "the little town". The first European to visit what is now Lompoc was Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo on October 14, 1542. He named it La Jolla because there was no harbor or other landing spot available at that time along the coast of Northern California. A mission called Nuestra Señora de la Concepción y los Pajaritos (Our Lady of Conception and the Sparrows) was built in 1835 by Franciscan missionaries near present-day North Park Boulevard and First Street; however it burned down in 1836. In 1881, Lompoc became part of Mexico City when California became an American state following Mexican independence from Spain. The United States annexed Lompoc in 1902 during World War I as part of the Tehama Division (now Monterey County). When World War II began with Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor, many Alaskan natives living in Southern California enlisted to fight. Most were discharged before they could reach Alaska proper but over 1,000 Anchorage natives fought through Japanese forces until 1945 when Japan surrendered and their fate remains unknown. The war changed much more than just one small town in Southern California - entire regions experienced rapid economic growth due largely to military spending throughout the 1940s and 1950s during which thousands more people moved into towns such as Lompoc due to wartime opportunities created by procurement policies favoring military equipment over civilian production products available for purchase by civilians. Postwar development has continued unabated with new businesses opening up since then although some have closed while others have transitioned into new businesses or are still active today despite having been inactive for several years or even decades past their original inception date due to fresh investment flowing into local communities like Lompoc from outlying areas brought about by successive waves of technology innovation occurring nationally at a rapid clip during this period known as “the golden age” Of course many other villages around coastal Southern California also experienced similar explosive growth rates during this time period thanks in large part to unrestricted suburban sprawl expanding outward primarily unchecked concurrent with national government support for Jeep Land Rovers designed specifically for off-road use on open rural areas across America resulting in increased traffic congestion leading inevitably to decreased qualityof life overall602 In short: post-World War II Growth Patterns & Stability issues across Coastal Southern Californian Communities
