The first American military installation in California was Camp RAND located at Point Conception on the Peninsula. In 1862, a battalion of the 1st Infantry Regiment (Alaska) was quartered at Camp Wadsworth on West Hill near downtown Los Angeles. At that time, there were no shopping malls or other commercial areas in Los Altos and it took many miles of unpaved road to reach downtown from the campgrounds. In 1923, Fort MacArthur was established as an infantry post within the San Francisco National Guard. That year, General Douglas MacArthur donated land for a barracks and dispensary at Fort MacArthur Park adjacent to University Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles. From then until 1959, when it became known as Fort MacArthur State Historic Park, garrisoned by the 4th Infantry Division (Allied Corps), Fort MacArthur functioned as Headquarters and Garrison Command for all United States Armed Forces installations in Southern California. On July 17, 1951, Major General Elmo Zumwalt ordered all U.S. Armies stationed worldwide to deploy immediately to Korea due to North Korean aggression against South Korea. As a result of this mobilization order, all officers serving with commands below brigadier general level were concurrently promoted to lieutenant colonel and given command authority over subordinate units while they awaited their deployment orders which would arrive through various channels including radio transmission direct from Washington D.C.. Deployment orders reached Los Altos on October 5th and upon arrival of Colonel Harry Cone’s Company A – 2nd Battalion 6th Marines who had been mobilized pursuant to Majestic 1945 plan -1st Battalion 3rd Marines followed suit three days later on October 8th with Companies B & C being mobilized two days after that with Companies D & E following shortly thereafter on October 10th . By November 15th all service members had arrived except for one officer who was delayed because he needed rest during his upcoming leave period . On December 1st , company commanders met together at Battalion headquarters where they decided upon items such as insignia patches/badges should be issued outfitted their unit's equipment while they waited for shipmentof new equipment which never happened as most packages arrived too late...the last shipment arriving January 6 th 1946 which unfortunately did not include any new gear so most troops reverted back to older uniforms...A very sad day indeed! When packing up their personal belongings we remember these brave men who gave their lives for our country but left behind memories of laughter and love rather than war

This means they may be working in difficult conditions without any rest or food , which can lead to them becoming exhausted and sickeningly ill later on in their tour of duty . In order to address these problems, it would be useful for the government to send more accurate information about upcoming operations so soldiers have time to recover from their injuries before they go into battle again
