In 1951, Mrs. Mildred Kelley started using whole bean direct from the roasting plants when she moved to Los Altos from Hawthorne, California. Today, more than fifty years later, Mrs. Kelley continues to bring fresh roasted coffee directly to her customers at her location on Perkins Road near Interstate 5 and Highway 101. The origins of fresh-roasted coffee can be traced back to America’s early days as colonists arrived in search of new land to settle and grow crops: “In 1607 Spanish settlers discovered what they thought was an immense piece of coastline that now bears their name—Los Angeles County—and began naming various parts of it after estates or lords who had granted them permission to farm there” (Moses). By 1800, most English farmers had left California for reasons such as lack of water or climate differences; however, a small group of Californians did stay behind and started growing Coffee (Ferguson). By 1825 some profitable acres within Mission Dolores School District had been leased for planting a few hundred meters east of downtown on Acton Avenue where David Price founded Price Coffee plantation in 1827 with twelve acres (Devereux). From this base Price developed several other plantations including those near San Francisco Bay Area cities such as San Jose and Oakland before selling his holdings in 1865 (Galloway). The first large scale commercial production took place about 1860 when George Peake leased four thousand dollars worth of land at Pueblo de las Pulgas between San Fernando Valley and Ontario Hills for three years with twenty Meter water main built Culver City lawyer Luther Colson running Peake & Sons which became famous worldwide under its founder Charles Peake (Dennett) Since then almost every major city world-wide has had their own version or Affiliate operation associated with that particular town/city relationship because Coffeeshops have always been one important aspect not just along Coast Highway but also throughout each individual town center serving up freshly Roasted Coffee Beans!

In 1870, he sold his land to John Augustus Chapman who founded El Sobrante (later San Jose) but kept Hill House until 1872 when he destroyed it due to fire. The first post office was established at Los Altos on December 15, 1875 by JH Richardson with Wm Fenton as the first clerk. In 1880, James Hargrave opened a small store at 1240 First Street which became the nucleus of present day Hargrave&Watson Incorporated., an insurance company that continued until 1993 when it merged with Uni-World Life Insurance Company to become AIG Financial Corporation

In 1968, an interchange on I-680 between Santa Clara Valley Freeway and Golden State Boulevard was built in order to improve traffic flow around Los Altos Hills Airport which at that time still operated as a military airfield used by Douglas Aircraft Corporation until it closed in 1969 following the completion of nearby Palo Alto airport which also served as an airport for Santa Clara County The city hall building located at 301 Main Street within walking distance of most shops became municipal services headquarters during this time period
