The California Army National Guard unit in Los Banos, CA, has been in existence since 1861. The unit was activated for service during the American Civil War and served as part of the Third Brigade of the First Division. The unit was mustered into military service on October 15, 1861 and fought its first battle on November 6th against Confederate forces at Cedar Grove. Over time, the unit underwent several changes and deployments with different units before finally being disbanded on January 1st, 1921. However, it wasn’t until 1984 that a new army national guard brigade was formed in Los Banos and assigned to 3rd Battalion (Dragoons) California Army National Guard Regiment #1. Since then, the battalion has participated in numerous exercises and deployments both domestically and abroad. In recent years, the battalion has also become known for its annual Christmas party which is one of the largest events held within the city limits of Los Banos.

Los Banos is a small town in California, United States. It is located in Kern County, about 25 miles east of Bakersfield and 10 miles west of Fresno. The population was 1,948 at the 2010 census. The first post office for Los Banos was established on November 12, 1853. The present day community was founded by brothers Emmett and Charles Banister. They took land from the Sanges family near what is now Enterprise Avenue and Pioneer Road. The name "Los Banos" comes from two Mexican words: "La Nochebuena" meaning "Nighttime", and "Banos" meaning breads or pastries. A millrace linked the Río San Joaquin with the Kern River where water could be collected to irrigate fields that grew corn, beans, almonds, sunflower seeds and other crops. By 1870 there were six mills in operation in Los Banos; three of which still operate today including one owned by the City of Los Angeles that employs over 200 people. Aided by this natural resource base as well as importation of goods from nearby cities like Bakersfield and Fresno, local merchants quickly diversified their businesses into many sectors such as grocery stores (Fresno), livery services (Bakersfield), dry goods stores (Anaheim) and engineering firms (San Bernardino). In 1899 El Paso & Southern Railroad reached Los Banos via an spur off its mainline just north of town; this made it possible for farmers to market their produce directly to city residents before shipment through San Francisco Bayou Potrero Ferry to downtown Bakersfield or else across country wagon trains arriving at various points along the way. In 1920 a new courthouse/ jail was built on Main Street adjacent to what is now known as Mayor's Park after Judge John Ewing administered justice in neighboring Parlier during his time as mayor There have been several alterations - most notably a new jail facility designed by architects Hahneman & Associates – but no major transformations have occurred since then other than some necessary updates done during recent years due specifically to increasing crime rates in Kern County dating back to around 2002 when devastating fires destroyed many homes and businesses within minutes of each other destroying entire blocks of Downtown Bakersfield throughout much of October making it difficult for both locals and tourists alike even being able to access much-needed resources like food or water etc leading many staying put indoors until conditions improved eventually allowing limited outside activity again beginning on November 5th Streets around town were renamed Hope Rd., Eagle Ct., Valley View Dr., Westlake Ave., Northside Dr.-basically alluding respectively towhether people should feel proud or embarrassed having nothing going better then downtown business being completely destroyed?

In 1912, they set up a store and got married in that same year. They had five children: John W., Jameson Jr., Katherine, Kathleenlyn and Teresa (the last name is often given erroneously as Teller). In 1914, they sold their Rancho de las Pulgas toename it Banister Rancho because they were already one mile from San Francisco's Mission Dolores Cemetery where they buried many of their ancestors who had died during the Gold Rush era. Banister Rancho was used by prospectors throughout California during the 1800s until it finally yielded its valuable gold mines in 1885-86 which allowed for large-scale development within what would become Los Banos proper beginning in 1887 with agricultural land surrounding three small ponds/lakes which were later increased to six water bodies providing enough alkaline soil conducive to mining operations; these ponds still exist today both on private property adjacent to Leadville Road near present day High School & Middle School; alluvial soils underlying stream beds at 3 miles northwest of original townsite; few buildings remain from initial period although some postcards suggest early construction included adobe or stone buildings becoming frame with corrugated metal roofs typical for this period

The early residents were farmers and their families who used the services of local blacksmiths to make their rifles, shotguns, and other firearms. They also raised chickens, pigs, cows, and hogs. In 1942, during World War II, Los Banos was one of the first American towns to support the United States military efforts in the war. The town's post office was established on October 3 that year and remained open until it closed in 1951. At that time, however, it became the only US town in California with a permanent Army garrison. In 1951–1962 it also had a Navy detachment which included USS Constitution (LPD-1) sailors moored at Terminal Island Naval Shipyard for storage purposes until they could be replaced by larger warships such as USS Enterprise (CVN 64). In 1957–1963 Los Banos was home to two important meetings related to development of Interstate Highway 5: The first meeting took place on November 8th where representatives from various jurisdictions involved in highway planning met with representatives from Los Banos to discuss potential routes; and the second meeting took place on December 8th where officials from both sides of the state aisle hammered out an agreement on alternate routes for I-5 including what is now known as "The Boulevard". Prior to these meetings there had been some concern expressed about potential flooding resulting from proposed construction projects along I-5 corridor; however this did not materialize. On January 9th 1959 after thirty years of service as a Post Office it ceased operations with clients no longer being able to receive mail except through First Class Mail or Express Mail.
