From 1953 until 1992, when it was disbanded due to budget cuts, the wing was known as KC-135 Stratotanker Squadron Five Hundred Fourteen (5th SFG). Since that time it has been known as 312th Airlift Wing (312 FW). In 2006, it became one of only two U.SAAF wings without an active flying unit assigned at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLC), Wash., replacing Headquarters Air Force Europe at Ramstein AFB Germany which closed its doors in 2005 after 25 years of operation. In 2009 however 312 FW reopened at JBLC as part of Operation Southern Watch under command of Fifth Air Force activated from England’s RAF Mildenhall airbase just outside London Fenchurch Street following IAF request for additional resources while they waited for their own base within JBLC to be built. It was later renamed 314 FW based at Hurlburt Field FL where Operations Division Commander Colleen McMahon currently leads all USAF forces deployed worldwide..

Lynwood is an unincorporated community in Kern County, California. It lies east of the city of Bakersfield and south of the city of Lancaster. As of the 2010 census, its population was 5,636. Lynwood is one of the oldest towns in Kern County and it was founded on November 15, 1887 by Dr. George Hinton from Dayton, Ohio as a small rural town named after himself and his wife Sarah. The first post office opened in 1889 and closed in 1893; the last mail carrier to use Lynwood was Juanita Skinner on October 6, 1903. The first store at 7th & Farnam Streets opened in 1895; it closed in 1901. In 1907 a school was built at 12th Street & Main Street; it closed in 1911). The town experienced a period of prosperity during World War II due to its proximity to military bases such as Naval Air Station Kingsbury and Naval Base San Diego; however, this prosperity ended when those bases were decommissioned or moved away. Lynwood has seen much growth over the past few decades thanks to new development including subdivisions for people with low incomes (such as Section 8 housing) and high-end condominiums that have replaced many older homes. However, there are also large patches of undeveloped land within its boundaries which remain largely rural with limited access to basic services like water or transportation

Lynwood was founded on October 6, 1879, by Capt. John Lynch and his wife Alice. The town was originally named "Lynwood Springs" after the springs that lay at its center. In 1897, the town was renamed to honor Rear Admiral James S. Gilmore who had died in a shipwreck off California's coast two years earlier. On July 1, 1906, Lynwood was incorporated as a city with a population of 25 people.
