In addition to his smelting business, Smeaton also ran an oven that produced copper wire for electric lights. This activity helped him become one of Lynwood’s early entrepreneurs. During World War II, gun enthusiasts throughout America were called into service; however, rifle ownership remained relatively unscathed by war-time regulations (at least until confiscation). As a result, many people from Northern California relocated south for wartime employment opportunities or fled Axis countries due to rationing policies applied specifically against firearms (e.g., Italy). Among these individuals was Roy Barnes (1915-1990), who arrived in Los Angeles after serving as an airman during World War II (he flew Liberator bombers). After completing his military service he began work as an advertising executive before becoming interested in purchasing handguns and shotguns from Southern Californians living outside the state's regulatory limits (i.e., California pistols could not be imported into Oregon)). n Barnes quickly established himself as one of southern California's leading handgun dealers; he eventually opened several stores across Southwest California before retiring at age 86 in 1990.(1) Through his dealership activities and interactions with locals throughout southern California, Barnes helped shape what we now know as "9mm country." His influence can still be felt today - particular among those active within sport hunting circles - where 9mm Luger rounds are still widely traded lingua franca among shooting enthusiasts around the world.(2)

In 1924, the club organized its first competition, which was held at the nearby Hollywood Recreation Center. The club has sinceamsity hosted hundreds of competitions throughout Southern California.
Lynwood is a town in Los Angeles County, California. The population was 86,711 at the 2010 census. Lynwood is located on the eastern edge of Los Angeles and is bordered by Vernon on the south, Westchester on the east, Bell Gardens to the north and Glendale to the west. It is also adjacent to Long Beach and San Bernardino. Lynwood was founded in 1911 as an agricultural community near Hollywood by farm families from what is now Compton. The original name for Lynwood was Rockville Heights. In 1923, when Hollywood began its rapid growth, developers bought land in Lynwood and renamed it Hollywood. By 1928, all of southern Beverly Hills had been annexed intoLos Angeles County; so too did much of western Compton. Lynwood remained an agricultural community until 1959 when it became one of the first townships in Los Angeles County to be developed withresidential areas (the others being Carson City and Mid-City). TheOriginal Townsite: In 1911 a group of farmer's kids from Compton came up with an idea to found their own town near Hollywood called "Rockville Heights". The original town site included 5 acres of rolling hills which still make up part of today's Lynwood Township - home to many small businesses as well as a few large ones like ChevronMobil and KFC that continue to thrive even after more than 100 years! Theaters such as MGM Studios were built here soon after starting up in response to movie audiences demand for larger plots of land than could be found just outside downtowns across city limits! It is located on the eastern border of Los Angeles County, about 20 miles north of downtown Los Angeles and 25 miles south of Ventura County. The population was 14,898 as of the 2010 census. Lynwood has been home to a variety of cultural attractions including an annual Parkrun race, two theaters (the California Shakespeare Theatre and the Hollywood Palladium), several schools and two libraries. On July 16, 1944, United States Code Section 107(a) granted Lynwood city status. The history of Lynwood begins with its first inhabitants in 1887 when gold was discovered in nearby Malibu Canyon. A post office called Lynnwood was established in 1888, and it remained in operation until 1914. The population growth that occurred during World War II led to increased development aroundLynwood; both the military base at Vandenberg Air Force Base and then-new housing developments such as Beverly Hills were developed near Lynnwood Boulevard and Lankershim Boulevard. The population reached its peak at 27,000 in 1950 when U.S. Route 101 became freeways became available through Southern California; however, this high number would not last long because rock music started to take over popular culture throughout much of the late 1940s and early 1950s which would eventually lead to Lynwood's decline as a center for music production after decades of being one of America's most important musical towns
