The United States Army's deployment of Christmas gifts to troops stationed in Madera, California during World War II was a once-a-year tradition. In 1946, the Ninth U.S. Infantry Division again organized its own Christmas gifting program which distributed baskets of items such as clothes and food to soldiers stationed at Corcoran Barracks on San Francisco Bayou between Richmond and Berkeley Counties in California and at Iwo Jima Island Marine Corps Base south of Okinawa City in Japan during World War II Beginning in 1951, the Seventh U.S Army deployed gifts every December through Military Government Unit (MGU) exchanges between the United States military government units located inside China during World War II On December 15th, 1947 President Harry S Truman issued Executive Order 9385 providing for an annual holiday season celebration for all service members who have served or are serving in any country during World War II by organizing a National Holiday Celebration onDecember 25th . On January 6th 1948 President Harry S Truman issued Executive Order 9419 creating an additional holiday season celebration called "Christmas with Our Troops" which would celebrate all service members who have served or are serving from November 1st through December 5th A year later on February 17th 1949 President Harry S Truman issued Executive Order 9462 creating an additional holiday season celebration called "Christmas With Our Troops - Part 2" which would celebrate all service members who have served or are serving from January 1st through February 14th The Tenth U.S ARMY ANNUAL CHRISTMAS GIFTING PROGRAM became operational on December 12 th 1950 under command of Major General James Kappeler Jr.. This program included sending presents directly to soldier's families via MGU exchangers located inside China including Shanghai , Wuhan , Beijing etc.. The Tenth US ARMY CHRISTMAS GIFTING PROGRAM continued until present day with different themes each year including: Veterans Day; Easter; Independence Day; Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday; Super Bowl 50 anniversary.; Armed Forces Day;; Disabled American Veterans Day;; Korean War veteran's parade;; Santa Claus visitations etc..

Madera, California is a small town in the Central Valley of California. The population was 5,811 at the 2010 census. Madera is located about an hour and a half west of San Francisco on Interstate 580. Madera is named after Mission San Gabriel Arcángel and it became a post office in 1881. The first store in Madera opened in 1892 by Wm. Hoyle and his son-in-law, Averill Harriman. In 1907, Madera had one grocery store and six restaurants before the townsfolk pooled their money to build the first shopping mall in America, which was known as "The Great Mall of America". One of the earliest businesses in Madera was a general store run by John Sutter that opened on October 25, 1868. Sutter's Store served as the nucleus for what would become the citrus industry in central valley; he shipped oranges to market from his orchards here until 1896 when he closed shop due to exhaustion from production. In 1902, Jerald Crippen built what would become one of Maderas' most iconic structures - The Old Mill which still stands today as part of downtownMadera Crippen started out making shoes for other merchants such as Pemberton & Sons who also operated stores throughout Northern California at this time In 1906, while working at Pemberton & Sons with my father (Jerald Crippen), we were given a benefit order from President Theodore Roosevelt for $2,600 so we went into business ourselves as Crippen Shoes Companyuraiding our brothers at Pemberton Brothers location near Yosemite National Park !! After eight years we sold out our original location on Third Street (at present day Cathedral Avenue) to purchase land at First Street and Center Avenue where we anchored Our Plaza Shopping Center now open seven days/week

Madera, California is a small town in the San Joaquin Valley of California. The name Madera was first given to it by the Spanish in 1847 and means "vale of the madre" or "valley of the mother." Madera's history dates back to at least 1849 when gold was discovered here. It was incorporated as a city in 1919. In 1937, Madera became part of Humboldt County and has since grown into one of its most important agricultural communities. The population of Madera peaked at over 20,000 in 1950 but has slowly declined since then due to a variety of reasons such as retirements, shrinking agriculture, and environmental degradation. Today, Madera remains an agricultural community with heavy concentrations of maize (corn) production and cattle ranching. Mining operations have continued intermittently throughout the years for both silver and copper but those activities are no longer considered major contributors to the local economy. Manufacturing activities include food processing, textiles, plastics, aircraft parts and components, and some light manufacturing products such as computers. There are also a number of small businesses that provide services such as janitorial services or accounting support. The City Council meets on Monday nights during town meetings which is where decisions about town specific issues are made including zoning changes/amendments/adoptions etcetera which affect all residents within city limits regardless if they live elsewhere in Humboldt County or not; however there is no elected Mayor currently serving this seat so all regulation falls under Town Manager discretion only - much like other government functions hereabouts!Madera's downtown core features several restaurants/bars along High Street known collectively as "The Mile High Club," home to many social events year-round including music concerts and tradeshows; recent additions include two new grocery stores (oneowned by Trader Joe's), two new libraries - one leased from Humboldt Community College (HCC) for use until 2020 (!), new housing developments - one owned by Sutter Health (the largest healthcare company in North America) with plans for more pediatric care clinics soon; extensive redevelopment work continues on former industrial areas adjacent to Highway 101X between Ridgetop Road & Folsom Boulevard with plans for further job growth & commercial development; finally significant progress has been made on 2 primary school sites adjacent thereto: one purchased from Stanislaus Unified School District who were previously using another location near Jack London Square while negotiations proceeded regarding their own relocation plan...and construction began immediately upon purchase indicating great optimism regarding redevelopment prospects!
In 1847, Madera County was created from portions of Fresno County. The county seat was located in Madera until it moved to Fresno in 1907.
