The United States Air Force Deployed Gift History in Malibu, California on December 2, 1988. The gift was a Lockheed C-130 Hercules Aircraft. It was the first time a Lockheed Hercules Aircraft had been deployed to Malibu, California. It flew to Lompoc Airport and took off for the airport in Malibu, California on December 3rd. The aircraft arrived at the airport on December 4th and deposited its load of cargo including five military Humvees, two Bradley Fighting Vehicles and four tents at Bishop Airport near Lompoc. The helicopters then departed for their mission to provide security for Christmas Tree Lighting at Naval Base Ventura County in Oxnard on December 5th. On December 6th, 1988 delegates from various agencies gathered at Naval Base Ventura County to witness the delivery of the Lockheed C-130 Hercules Aircraft from the United States Air Force Deployed Gift History Unit stationed in Lompoc Airport in California. This event is considered an important milestone in U.S.-Japan relations as it marked the first time a Lockheed Hercules Aircraft had ever been deployed to Japan as part of Operation Tomodachi which focused upon increasing bilateral trade between our two countries.

The development became known as Regent Park after Regent College – now University of Southern California – opened its doors there in 1958. In 1984, a private airstrip named Robert Hutton Airport opened southeast of downtown which provided access for helicopters and other aircraft used by Hollywood stars such as James Dean and Marilyn Monroe; this airstrip remains operational today as Ronald Reagan National Airport . In 1990,Viacom purchased controlling interest in MGM Mirage Resort & Casino which resulted in further remodeling including the addition of three large pools - one on each side of the casino - as well as new dining options like Applebee's and Cirque du Soleil restaurants . The name may have been derived from another word meaning "Island" or "Island fortress." In 1802, Mexican troops under General Antonio López de Santa Anna invaded and conquered what is now California. As part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, Mexico ceded most of California to America and agreed to provide compensation for land taken during the war. In 1853, Los Angeles County was established when parts of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties were combined to form what is now Los Angeles County. Today, Malibu is one of the wealthiest areas in North America and features some of the most expensive real estate in the world. It has also become a popular location for Hollywood productions and other commercial activities.
