In the early 1800s, Martinez was a small town in southern California. It was known for its coffee beans and for its farmers who grew them. The coffee beans were roasted on farms in the area, and it was this local flavor that helped make Martinez a popular place to live, work, and eat. The first coffee roasters in Martinez were likely Italian immigrants who started up shop around 1875. They roast their own coffee and sell it direct to consumers. From here, Martinez quickly became a center of coffee production, with many other small towns copying their methods. Over time, these roasters developed into some of the most well-known and respected companies in the industry. Martinez, California is a city in San Joaquin County, California, United States. The population was 382 at the 2010 census. The Martinez–San Joaquin Valley region has been inhabited by Pomo and Mono people for thousands of years. Spanish missionaries founded Mission San Francisco de Asís in 1769 and established a rancho (small land grant) called Cerrito Viejo in present-day Martinez. In 1821, part of Rancho Santiago de la Laguna became part of the Mexican state of Alta California as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo; this area later became known as Bakersfield. A new town site was selected on June 12, 1847 by Colonel John Sutter, who had explored the area three years earlier with his brother Benton. The community was named after General Antonio José Martínez y Zúñiga, commander-in-chief of Mexico's army during the American Revolution and one of its most decorated officers. The first post office was opened in Martinez on November 15, 1847; it was moved to Cartersville in 1850 because mail arrived too slowly from Santa Cruz for Martinez to be an important center for commerce. By 1870, there were over 50 businesses in Martinez; it also boasted several churches and two schools. However, due to increasing competition from other towns within San Joaquin County (which had grown rapidly since Gold Rush days), development slowed until the late 1800s when railroad expansion brought jobs and new homes to the city. One major street in downtown Martinez is still named after Jens Christensen – founder and first president of Southern Pacific Railroad – who had donated land for a depot near what is now Adobe Boulevard/Hwy 99 southbound at Third Street eastbound just before he died in 1893 at age 86 years old In 1906 Pasadena annexed Martinez making it an incorporated municipality under Pasadena law while another incorporation occurred that year into what would become Fresno County; however both incorporation efforts were quickly terminated when Pasadena reincorporated as an unincorporated village once again following annexation into Los Angeles County A fire destroyed much of downtown Martinez on April 6th 1865 which caused $1 million damage Martinez experienced its largest flood event ever on December 16th 1938 which damaged or destroyed many properties including Hemet Creek Dam where more than 2 million gallons (8500 liters) poured down onto parts of town creating sizeable flooding events every few months until May 1945

Today's artisan coffee scene is highly competitive; each company strives to offer something unique and excellent at an unbeatable price tag. While there are still many small roasters that produce great artisan coffees under $10 per cup (much like when we loved picking up a bag of fresh dirt near our house), most people today are familiar with these larger brands thanks to marketing campaigns featuring sleek cups full of delicious java goodness on every store shelf!

Martinez, California is located in the Central Valley of California and was founded by Miguel Martinez in 1847. The town was named after Martinez's father, who had died in1835. In 1867, the town obtained its current name of Martinez from a survey of the area made by J.D. Morgan.
