The history of roasted coffee in Marysville, California goes back to 1872. The first coffee beans were grown on a farm in the town. In 1902, the first cafe opened in Marysville and served coffee from small roasting plants. In 1916, John Doerr started a small grocery store in downtown Marysville and sold roasted coffee. He also started selling milk and bread products. The business grew quickly and by 1922, Doerr had 12 stores across California. By 1932, his company was renamed Doerr Coffee Company and began importing beans from Europe. In 1963-1964, the United States War Department plantedarded some trees near Marysville to produce more coffee for military use. This event is often cited as being the beginning of the current roast cycle for Marysville coffee. In 1971, Donny Wahl founded Pacific Coffee & Tea which became one of the most successful roasters in Northern California with its Menasha location serving over 24 rotating flavors of drip-style coffees daily including French press versions of all kinds of espresso drinks such as latte art! Pacific Coffee has been serving quality espresso drinks since 1972!

Marysville is a small town located in Kern County, California. The population was 2,531 at the 2010 census. The name "Mariesville" was first given to the location by Mary Ann McNamara in 1872. The community was originally established on Section 36 ofranch land grant from President George Washington to outstanding Mariposa County CA pioneer woman Margaret McNamara. The original settlers were women who migrated from Northern California and Hat Creek Valley in search of good soil, water resources and opportunities for agriculture. They built cabins and began raising chickens and pigs on their property which became part of what is now known as Marysville Township. In 1886, Mrs. Elisha Hunt founded the first grocery store in Marysville with $2 worth of flour, butter and eggs From this store, Mrs. Hunt developed a trade that would last until 1997 when she merged her business with Safeway Incorporated; however, today operate as separate businesses under one roof (the former Mrs. Hunt's current address). In 1898-99 Mrs. Hanks opened a school which served the community until it closed in 1951 due to budget cuts by then Superintendent Tom Ramsay Sr.. In 1914 Mr./Mrs./ Miss Fannie Bicknell started an ice cream parlor/shop called "Fannie's Creamery". It remains operational today as part of the Chamberlin Farms shopping complex chain! A post office called MARYSVILLE was established in 1892., but no mail ever reached the town because there was no route from Chico to Marysville! A wagon trail led east from Chicoweekly stagecoach station along present day US Highway 101 south past present day State Route 198 east all the way to Atascadero where passengers took wagons north again onpresent day SR 198 back into Chico Weekly Stagecoach Station! This wagon TRAIL also connected with old Juanita Road which continued southeast past present day Atascadero Lake toward Lompoc

In 1924, the U.S. government acquired all of Northern California for $20 million dollars in order to build the Transcontinental Highway. The town lost its status as an agricultural center after World War II, but regained some significance in the 1960s when Ivanpah National Laboratory was established there.
