In 1915, local entrepreneurs started the first craft coffee company in California. And throughout the 20th century, Marysville's coffee industry played an important role in American society. The town's businesses donated more than $1 million to charity during that time. In 2002, Marysville received national recognition for its history when it was named a National Coffee vintage village. Today, Marysville is a vibrant community with a wide variety of cultures and traditions - including its significant coffee industry population. Its residents continue to contribute valuable knowledge and experience about high quality coffee to the global marketplaces where this product is consumed every day.

This company brought new life to the town and made coffee available close to everyone.

The town is named after General John Maria Adams who served as a colonel in the U.S. Volunteers during the Mexican-American War and helped to drive Mexico from California. The first settlers arrived in 1848 and began to claim land around what is now Marysville. In 1860, a post office was established in what is now Marysville and it remained in operation until 1912. The town was incorporated on April 12, 1870 and had a population of only 3 inhabitants by 1880. However, by 1890, there were over 100 businesses operating within the limits of Marysville! Today, Marysville remains a small but vibrant community with an active cultural scene that includes several theaters, art galleries, restaurants and more than 50 stores. Residents are also responsible for many important local amenities such as fire departments, libraries and schools which offer education through gradeschool through college degrees (www.marysvilleca.gov). Marysville has always been one of its own – no matter how big or small its neighbor’s community may be! Coffee has been around since the 6th century BC. The first known coffee beans were found in Turkey, and it is thought that the bean was brought over to India by traders in the 8th century AD. It wasn't until the 19th century that coffee began to be grown and trade directly from Africa. Coffee became popularized in Europe during the 18th century, and roasts began to be developed specifically for Europeans. In 1850, a Swiss chemist named Johann Friedrich Roemli developed a new type of coffee that was lighter and less bitter than other types of coffee. Coffee cultivation spread throughout Asia soon after, as this area had rich soils and fresh water resources that supported crops such as coffee. Arabica beans (the most common variety of coffee) were first grown in Indonesia in 1908. The early days of espresso are often romanticized due to its rarity or mythological status. However, true espresso history begins with Giovanni De Simone who brewed his first espresso at an inn on December 3rd, 1795 – four years before Luigi Beccaria created espresso cuisine with a French Press machine at Parma’s Bottega delle Mazzarabiche restaurant

Marysville is a small town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 1,794 at the 2010 census. It is located on the banks of the Kern River and east of downtown Los Angeles. The site of present-day Marysville was given to the community by Rancho Cucamonga ranchers in 1879 as part of their homesteading effort in Mendocino County. The name "Midsomer" (from Middle English "middelborough", meaning middle or southern border) may have been chosen because it was about midway between San Francisco and Sacramento City on State Route 41. In 1902, gold was discovered along the river bank and development began with a few homes and several stores. A post office opened in 1903, but no mail arrived until 1906 because of problems with road construction near Lompoc and elsewhere. The town grew rapidly after World War II when people came to work in Project Independence atomic weapons plants adjacent to Rosieres Reservoirs; many soldiers brought their families here during that time. The population reached 2,500 by 1954 when Interstate 5 bypassed Marysville altogether and it declined thereafter until high school students moved into the area after Desert Hills High School closed in 1984. The steel industry left behind a large number of abandoned buildings including much of what is now downriver from downtown Marysville on Jameson Creek (now known as Baby Jesus Creek). This section was also home to one of the original shopping malls in Southern California - JCPenney Park - which opened its doors on November 25, 1969 following years of planning by then-Mayor John Fenton (D). Other anchor stores included Sears & Roebuck, KMart, JCPenney Mercantile Company, Macy's & Co., Payless Shoes & Jewelry Chain and Blockbuster Video Games
The town of Marysville was founded in 1851, and was named for the daughter of Captain John C. Mary, a fur trader who had come to California in 1848. The first post office was established in 1850, and the first store opened in 1854. In 1861, the town became part of Alameda County, California. In 1916, the county built a new courthouse on High Street in Marysville. The old courthouse burned down in 1922, but the replacement building still stands today. “Marysville is one of those isolated communities that has managed to survive despite occasional challenges from outside forces - something that is difficult to do even in more urban areas” – historian Kimberly Kapp
