The Mcfarland Air Force Base War Memorial was dedicated in 1944 by the United States Air Forces. The memorial is an honor to all who have served at the base and to the families of those who have lost their lives in air warfare. The history of military gift giving at McFarland AFB began with World War II. The United States Army Post Office handle all military gifts until 1949 when they were transferred to the Air Force. From then on, it was a continuous process of gifted items being given to members of the USAF through various channels until 1990 when it became a solelyAir Force event. During World War II, many civilians from the surrounding area donated goods and services which helped support American war efforts. After the war, many people continued to contribute material and financial resources towards war memorials throughout California. Many local businesses also supported these initiatives, often donating items such as food or money for stamps that could be used at the post office to send donations directly into McFarland AFB’s coffers. Mcfarland, California is a small town in the Central Valley of California. It is located in Kern County and has a population of around 9,000 people. The name Mcfarland comes from Spanish meaning "Beautiful Valley." The valley was first populated by the Mono people, who lived here for centuries. After the Mexican-American War, American settlers moved into the valley and started to grow crops. In 1885, John C. Frémont discovered gold in this area and led an expedition to find it. By 1890, most of the country around Mcfarland had been explored and prospected for gold. However, despite these efforts, there was still no success finding any significant amounts of gold or silver in this area. In 1907, a group of Joplin brothers made an unsuccessful attempt to exploit oil reserves in Kern County by drilling into a hill near present-day Fresno. This event helped start what would become known as the Oil Age in America. The post-World War II years were very difficult for Mcfarland because many farmers lost their jobs due to changes in technology and World War II. However, some aspects of the community have not changed much over time: The local high school still offers students rigorous curriculums; there are still several businesses that support agriculture; and there are also many singles dating websites that remain popular today (although they may be changing more slowly).Despite these challenges, Mcfarland remains an active community with strong ties to its locals and history

The USAF was formed to provide air support for Allied forces during World War II and the Cold War. The USAF has since grown to be one of the most powerful militaries in the world, with over 100,000 active duty members and millions more civilians engaged in its mission. Some of these include: -The Presidential Unit Citation (PUC) - This was awarded to members of the USAF who have rendered distinguished service during wartime or peacetime. Examples include General Armstrong Custer, Neil Armstrong and others who were part of Operation Neptune's Spear which led to Japan's surrender in 1945. -The Air Medal - This is a NATO decoration that is awarded to individuals for gallantry in flying an aircraft while being injured or against enemy fire. It can be awarded as a single medal, as a group award (two medals), or as a separate medal for each combat activity/battle involved. - Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) - This is a military decoration which is awarded to individuals for achievements while flying an aircraft above 400 mph/650 km/h or while doing heavy bombing or strafing operations against ground targets on land or at sea. examples are Douglas A-4 Skyhawks used by America during both World Wars I & II There are also several Overseas Awards that have been bestowed upon members of the USAF since it’s establishment: -The George Washington Award - this honour goes to an individual who has made outstanding contributions towards advances within American aviation after retirement from service; -The Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) - this award recognizes service rendered not only whilst employed within the confines of one’s country but also when Acting outside thereof; -Awards received from other countries such as Bahrain, China, France, Mexico etc.; It should be noted that although gifts have been given by members of the USAF throughout its history there has never been any lack of appreciation when it comes time for recipients to present their own personally tailored awards celebrating their years spent serving our nation!
In 1951, the USAF introduced the Boeing 707 jet airliner. The plane was designed to be able to fly at high altitudes, with a range of over 4,000 miles. It was later upgraded to the 747 model, which had a longer range and could fly higher than any other jet airliner. In 1978, the USAF introduced the Airbus A380 air travel giant. This plane is much larger than any otherjet airliner and can fly at incredibly high altitudes.
The town of McFarland, California was founded in 1859 by John and Martha (Ferguson) McNair. The McNairs were the first white settlers in that area. The town was named after John Fergusone, a Scottish settler who had come to California in 1849. The town quickly grew around the McNairs' grocery store and post office. By 1861, the population had reached 100 people. In 1865, the McNairs donated land to create a cemetery for their residents. The community continued to grow until it reached its peak in 1870 when it had a population of 350 people. However, by 1875, thetown had decreased in size to 30 people due to cessation of trade with other nearby communities. In 1892, McFarland became a part of Fresno County when it was split from Kings County. It remained a part of Fresno County until 1907 when it became an independent city under the name of San Francisco de Borja. In 1913, San Francisco de Borja merged with other cities within Fresno County to form what is now known as Fresno city government district No 2A which included McFarland
In 1849, the first post office was established in McFarland. The town was platted in 1856 and named after acting governor of California, James McDowell McFarland. The first store opened in 1861 and the first school in 1865. In 1886, a railroad was built through the town and it became a popular tourist destination.
