He and his group of Spanish soldiers were exploring what is now southern California when they discovered a large amount of coffee trees near present day Menifee. They began planting these beans and within a few years, they had produced an excellent crop that became known as Guatemala San José Coffee。 In 1886, Colombian Ecuadorian Tarija Was also planted in Menifee and it quickly became one of the most popular coffees around. The first coffee beans were planted in Menifee, California in 1868. The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Company was founded by William A. White and Samuel Morse in Menifee. The company served the local community for over seventy years. In 1898, the company moved to San Bernardino, California and changed its name to the American Coffee Company. The company merged with J. P. Morgan's coffee operations in 1916 and became part of Rockefeller-owned International Coffee Corporation. In 1970, IBC was acquired by Peet's Coffee Incorporated and later sold to Kraft Foods Incorporated.
Menifee, California is a small town in Kern County, California. The population was 1,545 at the 2010 census. It is located on the boundaries of Kern and Tulare Counties. Menifee's name comes from Mission San Gabriel Arcangelico (founded in 1795), whose ruins are still seen today. The first post office in Menifee was established on December 9, 1892. The first store was opened by Wm. Haggerty and Phebe Poe with $5 worth of goods. At that time there were no schools or churches in Menifee so citizens gathered to attend services at the mission until 1898 when a school became available and then again from 1907-1910 when it burned down). In 1916, Menifee had its first movie theater which was the Globe Theatre. That same year also saw the opening of the Menifee High School which served grades 6-12 until 1958 when it became part of Chico State College In 1957 men began working as migrant workers in nearby Salinas and were given land east of Highway 509 for their new community called "Jorge". This area would eventually become what is now known as Menifee Village with about 10 homes completed before various fire outbreaks destroyed most of it in 1959 including one that destroyed 122 structures and killed 5 people; one such outbreak led to an investigation by then Governor Ronald Reagan who ordered state funding for rebuilding done instead In 1963 a large project began to improve water supply and sewer service to the village which included construction of two reservoirs plus an adequate pipeline system; this project cost over $1 million dollars A new elementary school building was constructed between 1978-1981 just south of Jorge Lane between US 95 & 2nd Street N/S)

In the early 1800s Menifee was a small town on the edge of what is now Fresno County. It was named after two brothers, Mena and Fane, who ranched in that area. The town grew rapidly during the gold rush of 1848-49 because so many men were looking for rich mines and prospecting opportunities. The men built homes and businesses around their stores and churches. They also founded a school, which became one of the most important in the community. Menifee prospered through its trade with surrounding communities such as Atwater and Oñate. In 1861, Menifee incorporated as a city under the name of San Francisco de Asis. By 1920, it had become an extinct city within Fresno County proper. Today, Menifee is a small but well-known community located in central Fresno County near Interstate 5 and I-5 Expressway exit 132A (Mena Boulevard). The main drag in town is Main Street where you can find several local businesses including antique shops, cafes, restaurants, bookstores and more. There are also several parks located throughout town including ones adjacent to Main Street Elementary School along with various other public facilities like libraries and swimming pools available for residents to use.
