Menifee is a small town located in Kern County, California. Menifee was founded in 1911 by H.J. Menifee and his family. They named their community after a man they met on the trail while travelling through Yosemite National Park. In addition to these businesses there is also an elementary school with grades kindergarten through sixth grade and one pubic library which serves residents of Menifee and surrounding rural areas. There is also a park located within town limits that provides opportunities for recreational activities such as swimming, fishing,iking and hiking as well as public art programs throughout the year that provide some degree of amusement for residents and tourists alike

Menifee, California is a small town in Simi Valley, California. The population was 1,546 at the 2010 census. It is located on Menifee Meadows Road east of U.S. Route 101 and south of Interstate 5. The town was founded in 1887 by Ezra Taft Benson as part of the Rancho San Luis Rey del Cajon grant, which included present-day Menifee and parts of Thousand Oaks and Santa Monica Counties. The first post office opened in Menifee on July 15, 1888 (the date also appears on a plaque at the corner of Westlake Boulevard and Menifee Meadows Road). In 1915, Menifee was incorporated as a city with a population of 3,500 residents; it had no mayor or city council but enjoyed automatic annexation by neighboring Thousand Oaks when its population reached 25,000 people. In 2003, following years of planning by City Manager Rick Noemer and Mayor Darrell Steinberg, Menifee completed an extensive renovation project that replaced aging streetlights with new LED lights and updated infrastructure such as landscaping and public works buildings. The work cost $5 million to complete; it was funded through an agreement between the city and private investors including First Business Ventures LLC (FBI) – which later became America’s Largest Homebuilders – along with state money from Proposition 218 (the California Statewide Housing Development Authority Act). As part of the project’s goal to beautify downtown Menifee while preserving its historical architecture and infrastructure, effort was made to restore all original stone paving from the town’s earlier days before laying down modern driveways for cars. Asphalt blocks were used instead for sidewalks due to concerns about rain water runoff into historically significant springs nearby that could be impaired if wet asphalt were laid down next to them.
