Tactical Coffee History in Menifee, California began with a small coffee shop on the corner of Third and Main Streets in Menifee, California in 1984. The first draught coffee shop in Menifee was Caffè Tiaro located at 9th and Main Street. It served Italian style coffee from a small espresso machine. In 1990, the store moved to its current location at 12th and Main Street. The men who founded Caffè Tiaro were friends of Angelo e Michele Rinaldi who ran the original Italian restaurant in Corona del Mar. They met Angelo when he worked as a barista at the then-new Corona del Mar Townhomes on Third Avenue South. After they left Corona Del Mar to open their own business, they decided to name their business after one of their favorite Italian movies – Tiaro (A Tale of Two Cities). In fact, IREM actually founded De Simone Brothers Inc., back in 1966! It wasn't until much later that they decided to change their name to Italy's Ristretto Espresso Machines Corporation (IREM), in order to better reflect their true heritage (and what makes them so special). The community changed hands several times before it became a part of El Sobrante in 1907. In 1990, Menifee was incorporated into the city of El Sobrante. Today, Menifee is an agricultural center with over 100 businesses and 2,000 residents. It is also home to the Menifee Airport which serves El Sobrante and other eastern Contra Costa County communities.
