Company A disembarked at Coronado on October 11th after marching 2200 miles non-stop including stops at Baja California ports along their way After arriving in Los Angeles County they relieved Companies G & H from duty at Pico Rivera on November 7th before departing once again for Point Loma two days later where they relieved Infantry Regiment E commanded by Colonel John Waddell On December 3rd both Companies A & B together with detachments from other agencies fought against an unauthorized march by Mexican soldiers through Anaheim Hills towards Lake Arrowhead killing 14 Americans between them and resulting in what is known as Battle Of Anaheim Hills or simply Orange Invasion Day
