They began planting coffee beans in what is now Mission Viejo. The first coffee house in town was built on Calle Real, which is now Avenida General Anaya. The early cafes were very small and operated out of their homes. Coffee was expensive then and people usually drank it tea or hot chocolate. In 1951, Don Francisco Lopez opened his first commercial roasting business in Mission Viejo called El Bosque Roastery & Café (later renamed Don Francisco Lopez Coffee). At the time, it was the largest roaster in Southern California. The company continued to operate until 1992 when it merged with another large roaster, Garcia & Sons Coffee Co., Inc.. Garcia & Sons would continue to operate as a separate business until 2004 when they merged with Peet's Coffee Company to form Peet's Coffee Corporation. In 2000, Starbucks purchased Don Francisco Lopez' share of Garcia & Sons Coffee Co., Inc.. This allowed them to keep all of the locations and recipes that had been developed at El Bosque Roastery & Café since 1951. After purchasing Garcia & Sons Coffee Co., Inc., Starbucks continued to produce their own roast blend called Starbuck's Specialty Coffees which are sold online and at participating Starbucks stores across America

A few years later a larger school building was built and named for Mrs. Maria Lina Pacheco which served as both a public and private school until 1962 when it became state-owned property and closed down due to budget cuts by then Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Egyptians were also known to consume coffee before they developed writing systems. In Sumatra, Java and other areas where the tree grew plentifully, people drank ground coffee for centuries before it was discovered by Europeans. Coffee became popular in Europe after Christopher Columbus sighted it while sailing through the global ocean during his trip in 1492 AD. This discovery resulted in European traders traveling all over Asia looking for new resources and sources of income which in turn led to more contact between these regions and contributed to the growth of coffee culture across much of the globe. The Dutch began growing coffee beans in Batavia (now Jakarta) back in 1602 AD followed by other European countries such as Spain, Italy and Portugal soon afterwards. By 18th century Germany had become one of the largest producers with over two million metric tons exported annually alone! Coffee was also being traded extensively along international waterways including those leading into China until about 1800 AD when Chinese law banned any form or trade with foreigners! This prohibition hindered not only European traders but also supplies reaching China from outside sources! It wasn’t until 1855 that tea was finallylegalized within China allowing access by foreign traders again! After successfully lobbied by Emperor Taizong (1861-1911), tea became legal throughout mainland China making espresso history!

Mission Viejo is a small town located in San Bernardino County, California. The mission was established on December 17, 1823 by Father José Alvira and Brother Francisco Báez. Mission Viejo began as a simple brush-and-stick chapel at the edge of what is now downtown San Bernardino. It grew rapidly, and within five years had outgrown its original site. In 1828, themission moved to what is now the southeast corner of Park Boulevard and I-10 just south of Garden Grove. In 1853, the Mexican government granted Rancho San Fernando de la Hoz to Juan Bautista Alvarado for his part in organized resistance against Mexican rule during the Californio Rebellion. This rancho became one of the most prosperous in California due to its ability to produce cattle and wine. The mission buildings were also used for other purposes such as an ammunition depot during World War II and as a nursing home until it closed in 1984. Today, Mission Viejo remains an important commercial center with many high-end restaurants and stores nearby.

The mission became a dependency of Spain after independence from Spain in 1821. After Mexico gained independence, the Mexican government recommended that the Californios (Californians) move to Mexico rather than to Spain because they felt that Mexico would be better for them. However, many Californios decided to stay and fight for their home country during the Mexican-American War (1846-1847). In 1848, after California had become a U.S. territory, Mission Santa Barbara became part of San Diego County and remained an official parish until 1950.
