The Montclair Rifle and Pistol Club has been shooting for over 60 years. The first rifle and pistol club was organized in 1897 by J.E. Caldwell and W.H. McCullough, two of the early pioneers in the city of Montclair. At that time, rifles were not common items among farmers or ranchers in California because they were too expensive to purchase handguns. The formation of a rifle and pistol club was an important step forward for gun control in California during the late 1800s because it helped limit access to firearms by those who did not own them. Today, rifle and pistol clubs are vital components of community safety in Montclair, CA. In fact, many members of the NRA come from these organizations to participate in our events! Each month we host several different types of shoots including trap, skeet, shotgun matches, muzzleloading competitions (including a 50-rounder match), IPSC target practice rounds (often incorporating caliber conversions like .243 Winchester or 5mm Remington), airgun contests (usually featuring twelve pellet guns) and more! Montclair is a city in Alameda County, California, United States. The population was 66,425 at the 2010 census. Montclair is located in the East Bay region of San Francisco and is one of its six villages. It straddles the border of Contra Costa County to the south and east and includes parts of Albany and Hayward Counties to the north. Montclair was founded on May 10, 1868 by brothers Amos Wistar and Benjamin Banneker as a small hamlet called "Newfields" on what is now East Street in downtown Montclair. On February 14, 1870, Newfields became part of what would become Montclair Township. In 1875, two years after incorporation as a town, Mayor George Hallett proposed that the town rename itself "Montclair." A referendum held that year voted against changing its name but approved an ordinance change spelling it "Montreal". The first post office opened in Montclair on July 6, 1876; it was renamed Pleasanton on December 12 of that same year due to concerns about confusion with nearby Pleasanton. The last post office closed on October 15th, 1978. In 1910-1911 local resident Myron Jaffe organized a campaign for annexation into Berkeley because he felt Berkeley's concentration of wealth prevented true community development in his area. During World War I, European nations were struggling to come up with an effective way to fight against the Ottoman Turks. One solution was to arm snipers in order to take down enemy officers from afar. The result? A Pistol from Belgium became the world’s first sniper rifle in 1917. This unusual gift helped change warfare forever and is still considered one of the best gifts ever given to a shooter. 2) Sniper rifles have become popular among shooters over the years, but not all of them have been created equal. Some of the earliest sniper rifles were rather strange looking things – like this Russian machine gun that looked like it was made out of LEGO blocks. However, these odd looking firearms quickly became popular among military and police personnel around the world, thanks in part to their inaccurate shooting capabilities. 3) Another important invention for shooters came in 1977 when they started using grenades as ammo instead of ball bearings for their shotguns. This decision led to an entirely new type of weapon called a grenade launcher which allowed shooters To shoot grenades directly from their guns instead of havingto reload them each time. It also made grenade attacks much more dangerous as they could easily miss target due to their inaccuracy. 4) As technology improved, so did sniper Rifle designs – including this very own Barrett M8A1 model which caught on fire during qualification testing in 1990! Although it never saw action on battlefields, this unique rifle has since become one of the most commonly used sniper weapons in history due its sheer firepower and destructive power.

Montclair, California is a town located in Alameda County, California, United States. The population was 20,362 at the 2010 census. Montclair is home to one of Northern California's largest shopping malls and many high-end retailers, as well as a number of professional institutions including Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Montclair State University. The name "Montclair" derived from the three small villages that were part of what is now Alameda County: North Montclair (now an incorporated town), South Montclair (now an unincorporated community), and Eastmont (later east Montgomery). The first permanent settler in what is now Montclair was man named George Noyes who arrived on horseback on December 24, 1847. He purchased land around present day Central Avenue and North Street from the Native American tribe Mission Indians. In 1870, James Fenton built a cabin on what is now Happy Valley Road near the intersection of Central Avenue and Happy Valley Road. By 1872, Mr. Fenton had organized a local bottling company with eight partners which became known as "Fenton's Bottle Works". In 1875–76 Jepson Bros., merchants at First Street & Central Avenue brought over new brick buildings for their bottle works which still stand today along with other relics from that time including the original hand pump used by Jepson Bros.' employees to force water into their bottles. A post office called Camillus was established in 1879; it moved to its present location on Third Street in 1903. The first store in what is now Montclair opened its doors on October 15th, 1882 by Elisha Burgess under the name "Gleason's Hardware Store". At this time there was only one block between Lakeshore Boulevard and Third Street with businesses concentrated along Lakeshore Boulevard north of Third Streets while south of Third Streets consisted mostly of residences or small stores run by family members connected together through kinship or trade ties such as blacksmiths skilled at repairing autos or farmers raising chickens or pigs etc.. It wasn't until after World War II when Interstate 80 got constructed that businesses began moving out towards I-80/I-580 junction where I-280 converges making it difficult for people to get to their jobs Downtown without driving more than an hour each way! In 1951 the City Council decided it would be better if all businesses within one mile radius shared an alley for parking so business owners could move closer together but because lots were limited they quickly realized this plan wouldn't work so they changed it back to parking lot again! And that's how we know our current business configuration - lots outside of downtown mixed with shops inside downtown! lol... museum closed down due to lack finances but reopened under new ownership later :) When Alameda County absorbed Contra Costa County in 1949 all civil government functions were transferred from Contra Costa County courthouse located behind county hall building on Main Street across from High School until then Highway 680 also served as county courthouse until then state highway 914 served as both courthouse & jail!!!!!! final straw happened when access road leading straight up Main St Frontage Rd from Hwy 680 turned into private property owned by ChevronTexaco so law enforcement could no longer reach court Complex!!!
Montclair was founded in 1853 by Captain James P. Montague and his family. The town grew rapidly, and by 1870 it had a population of over 100 people. In 1892, the Montagues established the first department store in California. The Montagues became known for their quality products and were instrumental in helping to establish Montclair as a leading center for shopping in the state. In 1916, the Montagues donated land to create what is now downtown Montclair. The city's first library was constructed on this site in 1924. In 1951, the city approved plans to build a new Civic Center on State Street near High School which eventually became home to the City Council Chambers and the Mayor's Office. In 1972,montclair annexed nearby Arden Heights into its boundaries; this addition increased its population by over 25% during that decade alone. In 1984,montclair voters passed an ordinance creating Park Districts within its limits which continue today as one of the most popular civic activities in town
