Navy gifts have been a part of the Monterey Park community for over sixty years. The Navy's donation of two decommissioned aircraft carriers in 1941 signaled its commitment to the city and its citizens. Since then, Monterey Park's navy community has grown with the addition of two more ships - USS John F Kennedy (CV-22) and USS Enterprise (CVN 76). The Monterey Park Naval Aviation Museum is home to both vintage and modern naval aviation memorabilia from World War II to present day. This museum offers displays on a variety of naval vessels including submarines, helicopters, destroyers, minesweepers, submarines and more. There are also numerous artifacts from local military campaigns that can be toured or viewed at the museum. In addition to exhibits on navy culture and history, there is also a small library with books about navy forces around the world as well as an exhibit on warships built in California during World War II. The John F Kennedy Museum also contains interactive displays on maritime history as well as replica aircraft from various wars throughout history. The Enterprise Museum is located adjacent to Navy Pier which features a large collection of warships from both world wars along with tanks, planes and other military equipment used by sailors throughout history. The Enterprise Collection features replicas of different types of warships dating back to 1903 when it was founded by Captain George Hoey who served aboard HMAS Australia during World War I. The museum offers tours for all ages exploring Admiral Nimitz' Flagship which was christened HMAS Melbourne after she fought off several German U-boats while under construction at yards near Fremantle in Western Australia in 1939/40 campaign known as 'Operation Neptune'. Additionally there are interactive displays featuring reconstructed ship systems including engines room, gunslingers galore! All this plus beautiful architecture makes this oneofa kind attraction open daily 10am-4pm or 6pm-11pm; closed Mondays!

The United States Navy's Monterey Park Naval Air Station was a naval air station in San Francisco, California. It served as the home of the Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) 1 and 2, and also trained pilots of various types of warships. The base closed its doors in 1966.
Monterey Park, California is a city located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, California. As of the 2010 census, the population was 96,781. The city is part of the South Bay Area and borders Los Angeles to the south and east, Agoura Hills to the north and west, and Pasadena to the northwest. It lies on both banks of Monterey Creek which forms its eastern border. The City of Monterey Park was established in 1907 when it merged with neighbouring Westmont. In 1922 it annexed parts of El Monte and Downey Counties. On July 1, 1994 Monterey Park became an incorporated city after a referendum Measure M passed by voters in that year. Monterey Park’s history goes back to Rancho Cucamonga where Mexican landowner José Joaquin Moraga acquired 760 acres (280 ha) for $5 per acre in 1836 from Antonio Nunez de la Cruz who had purchased some 3 million acres (10 km²) in southern California from Juan Bautista Alvarado. The Moraga rancho extended into what is now Riverside County as far as Clarendon Avenue near downtown Los Angeles. In 1847 Phineas Banning founded a mission at Rancho La Brea Tar Pits near modern-day El Centro while still living on his father’s holdings at Laguna Beach; this area would later become part of Beverly Hills. In 1853 Josefina Carrillo sold 724 acres (269 ha) including Mission San Rafael Arcangela monastery complex east of downtown LA for $8 per acre (3 hectares). This area would form part of what is now Boyle Heights and continue downcurrent through Compton until it met up with western Jurupa Valley along Route 66 about 10 miles south of present-day Glendale Boulevard outside Chavez Ravine before continuing southwest past Santa Fe Springs into central Orange County then northeast over Rummel Canyon across Long Beach Island to Seal Beach where he developed Point Defiance Wharf on Long Beach Peninsula opposite Huntington Harbor before arriving there September 20th 1775 aboard HMS Beagle under Captain James Cook during his first voyage around Southern Asia Upon landing hecelebrated his achievement with a parties including Governor Pinckney & Lady Anson He also erected two small pyramids or mausoleums commemorating this event upon his return journey Magellan had reached India by way of Cape Horn but no one knows how or when he got here but we know he came overland via Panama

The USS Constitution (1794-1812) was another early shipowner to contribute something to the navy - she gave her captain, James Barron, permission to sell chocolate bars from her stores while on patrol in Spanish waters off Florida in 1799. This act showed that America had reliable allies both south of and north of Mexico City! Gift giving by sailors did not stop there though - during World War II many sailors made donations both through volunteering their services and selling goods they collected during their patrols off shore. Sailors also participated in fundraising drives which raised money for war effort fund raising efforts including Memorial Day 1944 when over 2 million pounds sterling were collected from sailors alone! There are even now organisations set up specifically within the U S Navy for gifting purposes! Monterey Park is a city in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, United States. The population was 18,526 as of the 2010 census. Monterey Park is located in Contra Costa County. It was founded on November 3, 1876 by brothers George and Lorenzo Monterey and their wives Emma and Lillie Maynard, who named it after Mount Moriah in Jerusalem. The first post office was established at Monterey Park on December 15, 1876. Monterey Park was annexed by San Francisco in 1893. In 1906 the City Council voted to change its name to Eastmont due to opposition from longtime residents of the city who felt that their name reflected too much connection with San Francisco's north side. On January 1, 1907, Eastmont became part of San Francisco and Monterey Park became an independent city again. On July 16–17, 1959 Monterey Park hosted the inaugural International Jazz Festival which featured some of the most important jazz musicians of that era including Lester Young and Dizzy Gillespie
Monterey Park was one of the original towns in the city of Los Angeles. It was platted in 1857 and became an incorporated town on November 15, 1859. The Monterey Park post office was opened on May 10, 1861. On January 1, 1893, following the annexation of Pasadena by Los Angeles County, Monterey Park became part of Pasadena.
