Two years later Mather again arranged for an exhibition at Philadelphia's Academy Of Fine Arts; this time he invited European masters such as Edouard Manet and Claude Monet to exhibit their work alongside American builders including Mather himself.[6][7] This show marked a turning point in American maritime architecture with works from around the world being exhibited together instead of segregating them according to national borders
