Moorpark is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 30,431 at the 2010 census. Moorpark is located on the eastern edge of the San Gabriel Mountains and about 26 miles (41 km) east of downtown Los Angeles. The name "Moorpark" was given to the city by Dr. John C. Moor in 1892 when he donated land to become part of what would become San Bernardino County. The first permanent settler arrived in 1876 and named their village after Dr. Moor's home town in Great Britain – Orchard Park Township on Long Island, New York. In 1902, following annexation by Los Angeles County, Moorpark became an official city with its own police department and mayoralty under Mayor Wm Hildebrandt. On October 16, 1916 Pasadena annexed what would eventually become Moorpark as well making it a full-fledged municipality with its own political structure and governance system separate from that of Los Angeles County – an arrangement that continued until January 1, 1947 when both cities were merged into the new county seat of San Bernardino due to population growth within Los Angeles County Alone." On July 15th 2020 voters approved Measure M which will allow for up to 8% increase in business taxes collected statewide which will be dedicated towards infrastructure projects such as expanding transportation options including light rail or bus service throughout the City limits as well as creating more jobs through economic development initiatives like manufacturing or tech startups Moorpark has been known for its citrus fruit production since before it even had a resident population! The early pioneers who came to this area started growing oranges because there was no other place available to them for their crops! Today’s orange farmers are descendants of those original settlers who helped bring agriculture here over 150 years ago! There are two ongoing efforts being made here today: one called “Oranges for All” focuses on increasing access to affordable fruit from low-income neighborhoods; while another initiative is focused on building more acres for almond production so that we can continue supplying our local markets with quality produce year-round!

Moorpark, California is a city located in the San Bernardino County region of Southern California. Moorpark's population was 26,381 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Claremont-Salinas Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live here were the Tongva people who came from northern Mexico in what is now Baja California during Pre-historic times. They built their villages on high ground near today's downtown Moorpark and on other hills around present day Riverside. The arrival of Europeans in this area started with Father Diego de Alcalá, leader of the Franciscan Mission San Gabriel Arcángel, in 1769. He founded Rancho San Bernardino and named it for his parish church in Rome, Italy - 'Motoville'. rancho went through many changes over time but ultimately became a cattle and gold mine town that grew rapidly due to its location and access to water supplies contributed by mining operations on nearby mountains including Diamond Peak and Mount Baldy which added up to more than 100 buildings by 1875 when several railroads arrived here with their new found wealth bring jobs into town as well as much needed development money that stimulated growth throughout the late 19th century until World War II halted most of it all when Valley Forge AFB closed down east of Moorpark (the so called "Great Los Angeles Air Force Base") reducing military housing demand which also produced some stores/residential areas along Interstate 15 south of town going out looking for cheap land while other businesses took off catering to entertainment values based job production only gradually growing back after GI Bill ended officially stated moratoriums occurred; In 1971, when Community College District No. 1 was created out of portions both East Kern Valley Union High School District #2A (then known asPCD 2) east half of Riverside City Schools' City Campus (renamed Moorpark Unified School District #1) west half), community college district #1 students moved into newly opened campus buildings between old Dodge Street/Everest Avenue north side parking lot/south side alley behind Old Academy building next door then north side athletic field across from Northridge Park Elementary school before being accepted by parents groups groups Parents United for Quality Education formed which led to establishment of classified open enrollment classes for adult citizens category starting Fall 1969 then self-pelled middle grades six through eight years olds through second grade opening fall 1970 using existing campuses kindergarten thru eighth grade classrooms with limited extracurricular activities offered outside those classes without prior approval or parental notification either way parent or child not allowed especially at home without positive consent leading children ages nine through twelve years old attend Torrance Junior College preparatory program started there unofficially since beginning programs
Moorpark was founded in 1887 by Lieutenant Colonel John Moor and his wife, Sarah. The town's first store, the "Moor Park Store", opened in 1889. In 1893, the Moorpark Railroad was started and ran from Moorpark to Tujunga. The railroad disappeared in 1902 but the town kept it as a memory. In 1916, an experimental airfield called "Moor Park Field" was built on the edge of town. It served as a training ground for the United States Air Force during World War II. During the 1960s, Moorpark became home to several shopping malls including one that closed in 1978 and reopened under another name in 1984.
