Since then, they've purchased and started numerous coffee businesses throughout the area. In recent years, they've also become involved in the local arts scene, contributing to several galleries and exhibiting their visual art.
Moraga is a small town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. Moraga is located on the southern edge of the Sierras and is bordered by Fresno to the north, Bakersfield to the east, and Tulare County to the south. The area that would become Moraga was first occupied by Mono people in prehistoric times. In 1867,ovalley Rancho El Camino Real was sold to James Humble (1824-1913), an American entrepreneur who became one of America's most wealthy men through his ownership of several thousand acres of land including much of what would later become Moraga. In 1868, Humble founded a post office in what is now downtown Moraga with the name "Humble". In 1876, Nelsons Mining Company acquired title to 640 acres east of present-day Moraga from Jameson Palmer for $1 million dollars which included some parts of today's town. The company mined coal until protests over dust storms and air pollution led to its closure in 1913. In 1906, Jesse Owens placed second in the 200 meter dash at the Olympic Games held in Athens Greece; this event helped spur interest in agricultural production within Kern County and led to establishment of two small farmers' markets near where Owens took third place just four years later. This growth also led to development around Interstate 5 as small businesses began moving into town center areas such as Main Street and Third Street between 1907 and 1912 when Route 99 was built nearby linking these areas together creating a more centralized business district known today as Downtown Moraga. Downtown Moraga experienced significant growth following World War II due largely to military spending within Kern County associated with Project Almanac which concentrated aluminum production surrounding downtown MORAGA while other portions of Kern were developed for oil production Notes: -USGS 2002 map shows only streets formed during WWII period however entire city core has been rebuilt since then

Moraga was founded in 1848 by the acting governor of California, José Figueroa. Moraga is located on the eastern edge of Lake Oroville, about 30 miles east of Sacramento. The area that would become Moraga was first inhabited by the Shasta people, who were forced out of their home in 1868 by gold miners. In 1853, Moraga became part of Rancho Corral de la Brea and then part of rancho San Francisco de las Flores. In 1865, the United States Army sold off 4,000 acres to John C. Fremont for $1 million. The land now includes most of Moraga as well as parts of Benicia and Livermore Counties in California. The town started as a small post office called Corona del Norte from 1892 until 1907 when it became known as Moraga because its founders were from that city. The original post office building still stands and is used as a library today. The first Store opened in 1893 and was run by Mrs. Myers with her husband J W Myers (1847-1924) serving as store manager for many years until his death in 1924. A new store was built on North Fourth Street in 1906 which served local farmers and ranchers until 1937 when it burned down due to fire damage caused by arsonists.. In 1918, Mayor Hildebrandt organized a drives to collect money to help with war costs then raised over $1,500 which he donated to benevolence organizations including Salvation Army, Red Cross and American Legion Auxiliary Battalions stationed overseas at that time during World War I. From 1919 through 1922 Mayor Hildebrandt sponsored an annual dance night at City Hall entitled "Dance ornaments for Christmas" which provided entertainment for many families during the festive season.. In 1933 Mayor Hildebrandt created the town board but never chairs nor does he ever appear on any documents associated with that body because he died suddenly two years later while attending a meeting related thereto! During his short life span mayor Hildebrandt left behind many accomplishments not only within Moraga but also throughout Northern California's esteemed Mendocino County seat!
