In 1922, Francisco Gomez began a small coffee farm near Moraga with his brother. They started roasting and grinding their own beans and selling them under the name of Gomez beans. In 1928, Manuel Gomez took over the family business and continued to roast, grind, sell, and distribute Magaña beans until his death in 1984. The company continued to be run by descendants of Manuel Gomez through 2007 when they sold it to Flores Coffee Co., Incorporated.

Moraga is a town in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 7,746 at the 2010 census. It is on the eastern edge of the City of San Francisco. Moraga is bordered by the cities of Hercules and Stockton to the south and east, Fremont to the north and east, and Hayward to the west. The first Europeans to visit this area were Spanish missionaries in 1821. A rancho was granted to José de la Cruz by Governor Manuel Nieto on November 15, 1826. In 1868, a post office called Rancho Moraga was established in present-day Moraga with Wm Henson as its firstpostmaster. The name may be derived from "Morga," a warrior village located near modern-day Menlo Park which lay out portions of what is now Contra Costa County in 1800 BC according to Juan Bautista Moyano's 1792 history of Santa Clara Valley. At that time it extended from Antioch through Lafayette Hills into San Leandro before joining up with Alameda Creek south of Woodstock until reaching Piedmont Avenue near today's Hayward Lake District neighborhood (now part of Santana Row). In 1868 an act passed by Congress entitled An Act for Establishing Schools within certain Territories specified in Senate Document No 2 approved January 1st created Contra Costa School District #1 which included not only Rancho Moraga but all of what became Alameda County including parts now known as Hayward and Livermore valleys On October 9th 1870 Michael Hogan purchased 8 acres southeast corner lot on current day R Street between Union & Alma Streets from James Fenton for $600 + $10 per acre over 5 years . This land became known as Hogan’s Hill . On November 10th 1870 Michael Hogan erected a cabin or shanty on top of his hill named “Hogan’s Cabin” lasting until 1903 when it burned down due to faulty wiring inside . In 1872/3 Antonio Canseco leased 160 acres northwest side of Happy Valley Road beginning at mile post 6teen (now Orinda) foaling cows leased from John Sutter w/out pasturing them also interchanged with Native Americans who resided there before coming under European influence circa 1840 AD @ site now occupied by Menlo Park High School In 1893 Charles Goodyear began operations as Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company Ltd here after purchasing land adjacent to existing business named Champion Tire Corporation on December 12th 1890 from Samuel MorseGoodyear Sr
