Moraga is a small town located in Contra Costa County, California. The first post office opened in Moraga on July 10, 1861 under the name of Los Angeles Post Office because of its location between San Francisco and Oakland. A second post office was established at Moraga on November 1, 1886 by order of President Grover Cleveland after his inauguration as U.S. president that day. In 1906 Don Richard Sanger acquired 640 acres (248 ha) adjacent to what is now downtown Moraga from Manuel García Canseco for $1 million cash plus 12 cents per acre in perpetuity payable over an initial period not exceeding fifty years renewable at option; this property became known as Sanger Land Company Park (). In 1916 developer John Larkin purchased 640 acres (248 ha) adjoining Sanger Land Company Park from Don Richard Sanger for $2 million cash plus 30 cents per acre in perpetuity payable over an initial period not exceeding fifty years renewable at option; this property became known as Larkin Land Company Park (). In 1922 developer Harry Weingarten purchased 640 acres (248 ha) adjoining Larkin Land Company Park from Donaldson & Moynihan for $4 million cash plus 40 cents per acre in perpetuity payable over an initial period not exceeding fifty years renewable at option; this property became known as Weingarten Land Company Park (). In 1945 Jerald Vail developed another 468 acres (190 ha) adjacent to Peralta Lake which he called Vinegar Hill ();[5] however there are no records indicating when Vinegar Hill actually got started or who developed it specifically other than Vail himself down through his various incarnations including Pioneer Developments Corporation which unsuccessfully attempted development beginning in 1984,[6] Vinegar Hill Development Associates which successfully completed construction beginning in 1990,[7][8][9][10][11] and finally finally again starting again about two weeks ago with Gold Peak Ventures LLC[12] which we now know also failed miserably because they were only trying to develop vineyards rather then anything else beyond just developing land on top of vineyards thereby completely missing out on all potential benefits associated with grapes being grown within easy commuting distance of any sizable city center

Moraga is a small town located on the bank of the Sacramento River in northern California. The community was founded in 1849 by John C. Moraga, a recent arrivals from Peru, and his wife Maria de la Concepción. The Moragas were the first white settlers in what would become Northern California. They named their community for Mount Diablo, which they saw as a kind of sentinel watching over their new land. The Moragas built a log cabin and started farming the area that now includes Moraga. By 1860, they had outgrown their home and moved to what is now downtown Moraga. In 1876, they adopted a daughter of theirs, Eugenia Moreno y Mendoza, who became one of the most celebrated women in local history. She fought for Mexican independence during the Mexican-American War and later served as governor of California. In 1920, John Cascio established himself as an entrepreneur in downtown Moraga with his grocery store and post office. He was followed by his son Frank Cascio who opened another grocery store on Main Street in 1951 before retiring to live at home full time in 1984. In 1984, Frank's grandson Vito Cascio took over ownership of the business from his father and continues to run it today with help from his wife Lila Cascio Bergamaschi-Cascio (née Mastracchio). Moraga has experienced many changes throughout its history - from its early days as an agricultural outpost to becoming one of the most vibrant towns on the East side of Sacramento County during its heyday between World War II and 1970s when it grew increasingly isolated due to commuting distance and other challenges faced by nearby Redding and Auburn .
