There is no doubt that Moreno Valley, California has a long and proud coffee history. The area has been inhabited by the Mono people for centuries, and the first Europeans to arrive were Spanish soldier Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo and his crew on a ship called San Salvador in 1542. They sighted what they thought was a large island off the coast of California, but it turned out to be an uninhabited peninsula. Over time, other groups moved into the area, including the Chumash (who arrived from southern Mexico in 1821) and Ohlone (who came from Northern California in 1631). Each group brought their own unique culture with them, which helped contribute to the diversity of coffee beans found throughout today’s Moreno Valley. In 1875, Charles Fenton opened the first store in Moreno Valley. He started selling coffee beans from his homeBasecoast business adjacent to what is now Seventh Street and I-40. At this time, there were only a few small businesses that sold coffee products. Today, thanks to advances in technology and marketing practices, we can enjoy high-quality coffee all over the world online or at local stores. Moreno Valley is a small, agricultural town located in Kern County, California. The population of the town was 5,811 at the 2010 census. Moreno Valley is part of the Fresno metropolitan area and it is bordered by Fresno to the north, Porterville to the east, Madera to the south and east, and Bakersfield to the west. Moreno Valley has a history dating back to 1875 when prospectors discovered gold in this territory. Mining operations began in 1878 and continued until 1912 when production ceased due to Prohibition. The discovery of oil in 1940 changed all that and mining resumed until 1984. Today, Moreno Valley is a vibrant community with an rich history that has influenced much of what occurs within its borders today. The first post office was established in 1875 and served as headquarters for several months before moving to Porterville. In 1902, a new post office was built on property now known as East Highway 99 which remains our current location today. In 1907, another new post office was built on West Highway 99 which still stands today. The name of this second outpost (Madera) likely came about because it overlooked madrone trees found near present-day Madera Road (now called Peralta Boulevard). In 1912, local resident John Ayer opened his own store named J Ayer's Grocery & Provision Store on North Main Street in what is now known as East Central Avenue. This business continued until 1914 when it closed because of prohibition censorship laws prohibiting sales of liquor across state lines at that time. On November 6th 1915 Douglas Coulter opened his Coulter Boot & Shoe Store at 2161 North Main Street which would become one of America's most well-known shoe stores for decades to come! Some interesting facts about this early pioneer includeDouglas Coulter being born into a prominent family in nearby Stockton; he attended school here before coming home and starting his own store; he also became president/owner/manager of American Tobacco Company’s Kern County branch from 1922 through 1929; he later served as Superintendent of Schools for Kern County from 1930-1935; during World War II he volunteered with the United States Coast Guard where he rose through ranks becoming captain prior to returning home after hostilities ended; finally he retired from active duty service in 1954 after over 40 years service! After closing his Shoes Store down many years ago some believe that Douglas Coulter may have been oneofthe first peopleto knowingly use LSD while selling shoes! lol... anyways...that's just my theory haha! Another noteworthy fact about Mr Coulter includes that both Mrs Coulter (their wives) worked inside their store hands-on day AND night!! They did this so they could keep up with their husbands' work schedule!! It's amazing how busy these women were during such a short period OF TIME!!! From North Main Street right up along Central Avenue you can find numerous reminders of old times including: an old gristmill used as evidence during trials against former Mayor Dave Beattie(1946-1950); Post Office #2 (now occupied by Pacific Gas & Electric Company building); two large buildings constructed around 1925 housing various businesses including Dr Pepper Snapple Group’s purchased rights from AT&T who had originally built them back then; an old movie theater which once showed movies outdoors but now serves as offices; and finally present day Moreno Valley High School which locals referToAs “The Old Lady”

The first Starbucks opened up in Seattle in 1962, and soon thereafter other chains followed suit. The popularity of coffee has led to its becoming one of the world's most traded commodities, with prices varying greatly depending on location and production conditions. Today, high-quality coffee is still very valuable, and can fetch prices up to $100 per pound or more on some markets.
The first coffee was grown in the region now known as Ethiopia. Coffee beans were brought overland from Arabia and India, and roasted on small, hand-operated roasters called kaffirs. The quality of these early coffee beans is still recognized today.
Moreno Valley was founded by Antonio Moreno in 1853 as a small farming community on the banks of the San Joaquin River. The Moreno Valley post office was established in 1854, and the first store opened in 1857. The town grew rapidly, and by 1865 it had a population of 1,500 people. In 1870, Moreno Valley became an incorporated city with its own government. By 1915, the city had a population of over 20,000 people and was one of California's leading commercial and agricultural communities. In 1917, Moreno Valley became part of the newly created County of Fresno after it was merged from parts of neighboring Tulare County. Over time, Moreno Valley has become one of California's most diverse communities with a wide range of cultural experiences and values. Today, Moreno Valley is home to an estimated 20%of Californians who are Native American or Asian descent. Many businesses in the town support local agriculture while providing diversity within their customer base. The history of Moreno Valley is reflective of many aspects of California culture: its sturdy architecture dating back to before ranching; its entrepreneurial spirit; its close-knit community that supports social activities such as volunteerISM; and its commitment to public service which has included involvement in various causes including education and health care reform initiatives
Moreno Valley was founded in 1879 by Rancho Moreno and its first post office was established in 1881. Today, the City of Moreno Valley is a consolidated city and unincorporated area located within the city limits. The original town site was on the present-day east side of I-10 just south of SR 133. In 1892, part of the Rancho Moreno land was bought by Jameson Haughton for $5,000 and it became known as "Haughton's Valley". In 1902, Haughton sold his remaining ranch to Anson Jones for $25,000. Jones named his new town "Moreno Valley" after himself.
