Morgan Hill is a small town located in Contra Costa County, California. The population was 5,362 at the 2013 census. It is part of the San Francisco Bay Area and is home to several universities including Claremont McKenna College and University of the Pacific. Morgan Hill's history dates back to 1847 when it was founded by Captain John Charles Morgan as a land grant for his brother-in-law, Levi Strauss. The first post office in Morgan Hill opened in 1851. The name "Morgan" came from Captain John Charles Morgan who granted the town its charter on December 12, 1850. In 1861, General Ulysses S. Grant visited Morgan Hill and pronounced it "the prettiest place I ever saw." According to legend, he walked through the streets blindfolded while enjoying a picnic lunch at one of the local homes. In 1865, Captains John Fenton and Hiram Maxim built a mill on Lockett Creek which became known as The Old Mill because it stopped production in 1917 when World War I began. In 1924, two men named Harry Chandler bought 50 percent of all shares in United Fruit Company and changed its name to Chiquita Brands International Incorporated (CBI). CBI purchased Chiquita Marketing Corporation (CMC) from PepsiCo USA in 1987 and merged with PepsiCo Canada Ltd., creating PepsiAmericas Limited PLC (PEP). In 1995 CBI sold its interest in CMC to Kraft Foods Co., making it one of the world's largest food companies with assets under management totaling $68 billion as of 2017 . The community has experienced many changes over time; some are listed below: Mallory Road was once called Cherry Street because all blacksmiths that worked there took their trade down Cherry Street which led people to believe that this street ran parallel to Main Street instead of going off into residential neighborhoods like other streets did. After years of discussion between residents about what should be done with Mallory Road they decided that Plaza Drive would be an appropriate name for their new shopping mall which opened up in 2000 after 20 years Planning Board deliberations After 30 years without any major development taking place within walking distance of most residents' homes their frustration boiled over into an angry demonstration against developers led by then Mayor Kevin Johnson on July 15th 2006 angering many locals who felt they had been forgotten about during his long tenure

This shift also led to a change in how coffee was consumed worldwide; now instead of buying cup after cup at local convenience stores or cafes, consumers started buying pre-packaged packages that contained a variety of different roasts, sizes, grinds and flavors. Beginning in the 1960s, artisanal coffees began becoming popular again as an alternative to mass-produced items due their unique flavor profile and artisanal methods of production. Over time, this preference has continued unabated; today there are many brands offering various types of artisanal coffee both at home and abroad.
