Morgan Hill is a small town in San Mateo County, California, United States located on the eastern edge of Silicon Valley. The population was 8,826 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Silicon Valley Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent Europeans to visit what is now Morgan Hill were José Sarabia and Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo on November 24, 1769. A mission was established there by Father Junípero Serra in 1821. In 1866, John Sutter founded the city of Sacramento on land that he purchased from Mission Santa Clara de Asís. This event led to an influx of people and businesses into Morgan Hill which created a need for services such as grocery stores and churches. Prior to this time, most people in Morgan Hill lived off agriculture or fishing activities. In 1878, Charles Goodyear established his Tire and Rubber Company at what is now Union Station Square in downtown Morgan Hill; Goodyear's original factory would later become one of Northern California's largest employers with over 1 million workers during World War II. Goodyear's company eventually became known as Tyco International after its acquisition by Hewlett-Packard in 1999. In 1963, when Measure B passed through San Francisco's then- governing City Councilmember Willie Brown Jr.'s district (the only African American who served on that body), it became easier for immigrants living east of Market Street – primarily Mexican Americans – to achieve permanent residency without having to go through traditional channels such as labor certification or naturalization ceremonies administered by state officials In recent years, growth has been slower than expected due to affordable housing shortages statewide and dwindling job opportunities within the tech industry specifically in Silicon Valley; however redevelopment plans are ongoing throughout central Morgan Hill including new homesites being built near Highway 101/Folsom Street while also active efforts are made within the community towards economic development initiatives such as ArtWalk & More Festivals each yearide

Morgan Hill is a small town in California, located about 25 miles east of Los Angeles. The population was 7,850 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Gabriel Valley region. The first European to visit Morgan Hill was Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo on November 6, 1542. He named it Isla de la Muerte (Island of Death). The name may have been inspired by Mission San Fernando Rey de Asís which stood on an island in Mobile Bay and was reported as "the most beautiful place in all America". In 1847, postmaster Hiram Bingham donated land to establish a school and town center on the then unnamed Pacific Coast Railroad right-of-way. The first school opened on October 25, 1848; it became known as Morgan Hill School District No. 1 because it included all of what is now Morgan Hill Township and much of eastern Los Angeles County. On July 22, 1870, after Union troops burned down the Spanish mission at Monterey Point near Pasadena for raiding supplies aboard USS Constitution's blockade runner volunteers from that ship raised a flag over that mission to demonstrate American independence from Spain. On February 5, 1912 the Board of Education voted unanimously to change the name of Morgan Hill School District No. 1 to East Los Angeles Unified School District effective March 1st following incorporation into other school districts in Los Angeles County including Woodland Hills and North Hollywood within East LOSA boundaries during annexation proceedings by then-Governor Vincent Harding as part of efforts to improve public education throughout California during his term from 1911 until 1916 when he resigned due to ill health Municipal services were originally provided by Japanese Americans who had been interned during World War II at Tule Lake Naval Air Station north of Santa Monica until its closure in 1951 . After passage of Proposition 8 on November 8th 2008 resulting in anti-immigrant sentiment among some residents and businesses withinEast LAUSD this led many Japanese Americans who had lived there through World War II/1946 not being able to vote or evenregister ballot with respect thereto despite prior registration . In light of this situation many terminated their contracts with East LAUSD effective January 30th 2009

The name of the town may have been derived from "morgans" or "mugwumps," because these were the only people who lived there at that time. In 1864, a sawmill and gristmill were built in Morgan Hill. By 1870, the population had grown to about 100 people. The first school in Morgan Hill was established in 1870. It was a private school run by Mrs. John Ayer. In 1892, a public school opened up in Morgan Hill and it remained operational until 1955 when it was closed down due to budget cuts. Morgan Hill is located at (38.813449,-122.045759).
