Mountain View is a city in Northern California, located on the San Francisco Peninsula. It has a population of over 210,000 as of 2015 and is the largest city in Silicon Valley. With its history dating back to 1847, Mountain View is home to some of the world's oldest coffee houses and one of the most well-known caffeine hotspots in the world. The first coffee house in Mountain View was called The Coffee House on Market Street. Coffee beans were roasted here by John Doerr, who also ran Doerr's Coffee Company which served breakfast and lunch from 1847 until his death in 1897. In 1865, Donner Daily printed an advertisement for a "Gourmet Coffee House" at 6th and Mission Streets (now part of Google Campus). The first article announcing this new café appeared in Donner's Weekly on October 12th of that year. This Gourmet Coffee House was called Donner's Falcon after Donners Brewery which brews their own coffee. In 1892, soon after incorporation as a city, Mountain View began purchasing land from private individuals for use as public squares and parks. One such square was Constitution Avenue near Peakview Drive where citizens could gather for morning cups of joe or afternoon danish around a fireplaces made from logs dug out from under City Hall Park across the street. In 1912, Mountain View purchased land east of High Street between Spruce and Yerba Buena Streets where they built what would become known asGoogle Earth Place – now one of Google’s primary campus buildings (and home to Googlers' offices). When Google moved into its current headquarters building adjacent to First Street/Donner Boulevard in 1998, they retained all but two acres (0 hectare) of Constitution Avenue property including Google Earth Place which still stands today despite being vacant since 2001 when Google vacated their old Headquarters Building adjacent to First Street/Donner Boulevard so that their new Headquarters building could be constructed next door on Spruce Avenue between First and Second streets – thus demolishing most if not all evidence that there ever was any Gourmet Coffeehouse located at 6th & Mission Streets prior to October 12th 1865 when it became Donners Falcon !!!

There are a few things that can be said about the history of gourmet coffee in Mountain View, California. The first mention of coffee being brewed in the city is from 1885, when an Italian immigrant named Fausto Garofalo started brewing coffee at his home on Montgomery Street. Coffee continued to be brewed and sold in small quantities until 1906, when a man by the name of Angelo Bonomi opened a roastery on Market Street. beginning production of dark roast beans. In 1912, Angelo Bonomi's son became the manager of the business and began production of light roast beans which continue to be produced today. In 1925, Harry Forrester opened his own coffee house near Google campus and began to sell roasted coffee direct from his farm near Menlo Park. This marked the beginning of what would become known as "Mountain View's" gourmet coffee industry. From here on out, many other businesses followed suit and soon there were several Starbucks' (including one that was only open for breakfast), cafes and restaurants within walking distance that offered delicious cups of java made fresh each morning with local produce!
