Aspen Coffee is a privately held, family-owned and operated coffee company in Murrieta, California. Aspen Coffee has been roasting and grinding coffee since 1994. The company was founded by John Aspen and his wife, Cindy, who are the owners of Aspen Gardens Nursery. John Aspen is a Certified Specialty Coffee Roaster (CSCR) and a member of the American Coffee Association. He has over 25 years experience as a business owner and roaster. In 1994, John Aspen founded Aspen Coffee with the goal of providing quality coffee for people to enjoy all year round. Today, Aspen Coffee continues to make unique roast products that are enjoyed by customers all over America. There is a long and proud coffee history in Murrieta, California. The first coffee beans were grown on the site of what is now the Chevron refinery in 1868. A number of different businesses have been located in and around Murrieta over the years, including two factories that made soy sauce and other food items. In 1978,Murrieta became home to its own coffee cooperative known as La Bodega del Coffee.
Murrieta is a small town located in the south-central portion of San Diego County, California. It is bordered on the north by Carlsbad, on the east by Yuma and on the south by Indio. As of 2009, Murrieta had a population of 8,094 people. The 2010 United States Census reported that Murrieta had a population of 7,912. The first Europeans to visit what is now Murrieta were Spanish missionaries in 1769 who named it "Misiones" after their Missions Rancho San José de las Misiones (now part of Eastridge) just outside its southern border. Juan Bautista Cabrillo sighted land on January 15, 1776 while sailing westward from Mexico City under Captains Francisco Pizarro and Andrés Manuel López de Mora and named it Santa Barbara de Atacama for his wife's family member who was buried there. Mission San Fernando Rey de la Laguna (founded 1824) was founded about a mile northeast of present-day Murrieta on an hillock overlooking what are now Fillmore Street and Cuyamaca Avenue. A second mission built at this site –Mission Concepción –was completed in 1827, becoming independent from both missions until 1830 when they were merged into one larger religious complex known as Mission San Fernando Rey y Los Nietos (founded 1836). A post office called Pedregal was established at present-day Murrieta in 1896; it was discontinued in 1902. In 1912–13 the town developed a park system which included Doña Ana Park adjacent to its downtown area near where Main Street crosses Needles Creek. The park includes several baseball diamonds, tennis courts, dog parks, playgrounds and other facilities used by locals and visitors alike during summer months when high school students from nearby Escondido take batting practice or play basketball at DonatellO'Neill Park across Fillmore Street from Isabella High School before returning home for dinner or movie night; prior to 1994 these practices took place inside Doña Ana Park rather than outdoors because Escondido did not have an open-air gymnasium then as it does today! In 1951 two citizens funded the development of an airport within 100 yards of town limits - Empire Airport which served as the community's only airport until 1990 when Otter Valley Airport opened next door to serve neighboring Otter Valley with charter services beginning in 1978. For example, Ethiopian Blue Coffee was sometimes mixed with Guatemalan Orange Coffee. This allowed for a more creative roast and helped define the taste of early coffee beans.
Murrieta is a small town in Imperial County, California, United States. The population was 4,564 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Diego-Carlsbad-San Bernardino Metropolitan Statistical Area. Murrieta is also located on Interstate 805 and State Route 78. The first Europeans to visit what is now Murrieta were Spanish missionaries in 1769. They named it "Los Padres de la Paloma" after their patron saint, Pope Pius VII. In 1821 the Mexican government designated the area as part of Alta California and its mission district became known as Huasteca Missions District. In 1851, Captain George Armstrong Cuppy explored and mapped the Santa Lucia River Valley which included present day Murrieta and its surroundings when he geologically surveyed Rancho Rinconada Mexican land grant for US Congressman Don Carlos Baca y Valdez. In 1865 an act of Congress called for surveys to be made of all ranchlands east of Los Angeles Harbor within reason for surges in immigration from Southern Europe during that era including Mexicans seeking permission to immigrate to America on beeves or trains under contract with businesses such as Sutter Brewing Company owner John Sutter who had been given exclusive rights by Mexico over this area because he owned most oflos Angeles Harbor shoreline then used by only fishermen and their boats not accessible by road or sea - hence his name "Salt Creek."
