The California Air Force Museum in Napa, California has a rich history of airforce gift giving. The AFM offers visitors an intimate glimpse into one aspect of Californian military culture through its collection of vintage airplanes, weapons systems, uniforms and memorabilia from both World War II (1939-1945) and today’s conflicts around the world such as Operation Neptune Spear (2009). Visitors can learn about how these artifacts were used during wartime missions or experience firsthand how American servicemen protect our country abroad. It is clear that this museum has been vital in preserving not only Californian military heritage but also our state’s proud tradition as a hub for aviation research and development

After World War II, Eisenhower ordered a restructuring of US military forces that resulted in two USAF wings - Strategic Air Command (SAC) and Tactical Air Command (TAC). The USAF was founded as an independent service on September 20th 1947 with headquarters at Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio. By 1952 it had over 100 bases worldwide and deployed more than 50% of all American combat aircraft during Cold War conflicts. This place was important to early settlers because it offered affordable land and fertile soil for farming. The growth and development of Napa Valley began during World War II when large amounts of food were needed for troops fighting in Europe. Many businesses were developed around this time including wineries, distilleries, breweries, and cheese farms. In 1964, Napa became a county with a seat at Redwood City. The following year saw significant changes when hippie movement members moved into rural parts of Napa County looking for new challenges and opportunities outside the city limits (Walsh). This change led to more joblessness among young people who had grown used to having easy access to jobs within city limits. However, this also brought about increased interest in winegrowing regions such as Napa Valley due to its unique climate conditions (Kozlowski). During recent decades, much progress has been made within Napa Valley wineshops that have helped improve customer service standards as well as increase production levels (+Petersen). One example is the construction project that began in 2013 known as Project Vinosanta which aimed to revive abandoned vineyards throughout Northern California (Cooksnyder). While some negative effects have occurred such as increased traffic congestion on roads leading up to winegrowing regions, overall these projects have helped make napavalley one of the most vibrant wine-producing areas in North America (Cooksnyder). In addition to its rich history and culture,Napaville has become an attractive destination for tourists due to its beautiful attractions such as majestic hillsides covered in redwoods and rolling vineyards ($$$$ $$ ). In 1847, Napa County was created from part of Sonoma County. The first post office at Riddle Ranch was established in 1849. By 1860, the population of Napa had grown to over 10,000 people. In 1865, the first railroad reached Napa and began serving the area. The following year, a school was built in what is now downtown Napa. By 1880, the population of Napa had increased to over 20,000 people and agriculture became the predominant occupation in the county. The growth of wine production led to an increase in taxes for local government and a decrease in funding for education and other social services. In 1906, vineyards were purchased by Russian industrialists who converted them into high-quality wines known as "Russian Beaujolais." The popularity of these wines caused demand for more land and irrigation systems which led to increased tax revenue for local government and support for education initiatives. Napa Valley has been consistently one of America's most wine-producing areas since Prohibition ended in 1933.Today's wine industry employs some 50% of all American viticultural workers with output totaling $10 billion annually
