In 1893, incorporation as a municipality occurred with a population of about 575 citizens although it would grow to over 1,000 by 1907 when it merged with neighboring Commerce City In 1934-35 there was an extensive renovation project that included new brick buildings on Main Street north of Union Station as well as additions to existing structures such as the old Post Office (now known as Headquarters) along Grand Avenue east of railroad tracks (the company's original location).
