With its location central to all aspects of daily life it would no doubt come as no surprise that numerous churches have been constructed in recent decades including Holy Cross Catholic Church (founded 1922) which seats upwards of 350 people inside and out!, St Michael’s Anglican Church (founded 1951), Presbyterian Pastor United Methodist congregation UMC (founded 1957), First BaptistChurch (founded 1887), Congregational Pastor Unitarian Universalist congregation URU (founded 1954). This diverse mix ensures that despite having only 994 residents at the 2010 census Newman has managed to maintain highly visible ties with its community partners across denominational lines!
