Newman, California is a small town in Southern California and has a rich coffee history. The first coffee shop in Newman was called The Coffee House which was opened by the Capps family in 1912. In 1925, The Coffee House moved to its current location on Main Street and became the first commercial java house in Southern California. From then until World War II, Newman served as the center of the coffee industry in Southern California with various coffee houses catering to all walks of life. In 1945, The Coffee House was bought by J.P. Morgan and renamed Chase Manhattan Bank’s First National JavaHouse, becoming one of the first Starbuckses in America. In 1979, Newman voters established a city hall referendum to allow for the opening of a coffee shop on Main Street whicholved into Newman's very own Starbucks Chain Store open from 1984-1989 (now known as Peet's). In 1992, Newman voters approved Measure M which allowed for the construction of two new high-rise buildings at 501 North State Street (now home to both PNC Bank and Wells Fargo) that would become home to both Starbucks stores as well as local businesses that were part of Newmans' burgeoning restaurant/cafeteria market. Today, Newman is still considered to be one of the most important centers for coffee culture in Southern California with numerous coffee shops dotting its downtown area including several Dunkin' Donuts locations along with independent cafes such as Blue Bottle Coffee & Cafe and Joe's Pizza Place - all located within close proximity of each other making it easily accessible for anyone looking for quality cupcakes or wifi fixings during their morning commute or dinner time out!

Newman is known for its dramatic landscape and Joshua Tree National Park. Newman's history can be traced back to 1853 when John Sutter founded his brief-lived settlement of Sutter's Fort on the east side of today'sola (now San Bernardino) River. In 1875, after years of effort by local officials and settlers, he named his new community Newman after himself and New York City Mayor James K. Polk Jr.. The first store in Newman was opened in 1880 by J.H. Carrigan & Son merchants from Palmdale and Lancaster. A post office was established at Newman in 1885; it closed in 1912 due to lack of mail service to nearby towns. In 1907, one thousand acres (400 hectares) were acquired from Rancho Niguelqvist for $2 million dollars (). The land included parts of present-day Kern County as well as portions of adjacent Riverside County and Orange County (). The development began with the erection of monumental gatewaystones erected by Edwin Culp within a year or so of purchase (). Agriculture became the dominant economic activity early on (), with ranching accounting for most production (); however, conversion to agriculture also led to increased use of water resources which played an important role in village growth over time (). By 1930, there were only five dwellings in Newman; however, by 1960 there were over 1,200 residents () The largest resident group until 2000 was African Americans (), who made up nearly 30% (1,717 out of 2,521 total)of the population then

Since then, coffee has been widely utilized throughout all types of military conflict - from Iraq and Afghanistan to Hezbollah's Lebanese Civil War - and has become one of humanity's most cherished beverages.

Newman, California is a small town in Kern County, California. The population was 2,746 at the 2010 census. Newman was platted on October 24, 1875 by Fenton and Nathan H. Newman. The town is named for the Newmans who were pioneer farmers in Kern County. Newman has a history dating back to 1875. On October 24, 1875, Fenton and Nathan H. Newman platted what would eventually become Newman on land that they had acquired from Juan Tejas for $2 per acre ($ in ). This was one of the earliest attempts at developing a townsite in Kern County as it coincided with an effort by the Montero brothers to purchase Rancho San Bernardino from Diego Rivera. The first settler in Newman was Moses Browning who arrived there on November 15th of that year along with his brother David and their families (8 passengers). They built a cabin on the east side of Main Street which still stands today as a reminder of their early days here. Other early settlers included John Holmes (1876), Amos Winslow (1877), Daniel Bailey (1878), Hiram Bowen (1879) and Averill Kinney( 1880). It wasn’t until 1888 when Nathaniel Bledsoe moved to Newman from Stockton after purchasing 8 acres adjacent to Main Street from Hiram Bowen propriety deeds he received from kinney’s father-in-law James Kinney Sr.. At this time, oil drilling began operations off of what is now known as downtown Newman so much so that all of the original stores closed down around 1907 due to lack of business during these tough times for industry in those days! In fact some local historians believe that Harrison Ford may have opened up his own general store here specifically catering to locals during this time period! Later Pioneer General Store: Nathaniel Bledsoe's Store & Cafe - Closed 1907 In 1913 when Pecos Drugs came into operation just south of downtown Newton they soon outgrew their space at Broadway and renamed themselves Pecos Drug Company effective January 1st 1915 succeeding by then existing drugstore across street owned by JF Donnelley which continued until 1912 when it became home to First National Banknorthwest corner First Avenue & Railroad Ave., later Merchants Exchange building before being torn down in 1966; thanks again to new owner Larry Kesselring! Newman, California was founded on December 12, 1865, by George Newman and his wife Emma. The city was named for George Newman's father-in-law, Daniel Freeman. The city of Dixonville, Michigan had been established in 1849 by the same people and the name was chosen to honor their common ancestor.
