Gun gift history in Newport Beach, California begins with the first gun purchased in the city on May 24, 1897. The firearm was a Smith & Wesson Model No. 3 revolver and it was purchased by C.W. Fenton from Eben Hines of 10th Street and North Avenue. This purchase is significant because it marks the beginning of an archive of Newport Beach gun purchases that is still kept today. The next important purchase in Newport Beach’s gun history comes on July 5, 1899 when Simeon Dutton bought a Winchester Model 1892 Rifle from Samuel Prentice at 2nd and Park Streets. This purchase is significant because it signifies the first time that guns were given as gifts to individuals in Newport Beach. Next on the list are two more Winchester Model 1892 rifles, both bought by Driggs Larson on October 6, 1899 from Mr. & Mrs. John Laddington of 20th Street and Harbor Boulevard. These purchases signify another milestone in Newport Beach’s gun gift history as they mark the first time that firearms were gifted to families living within walking distance of each other in coastal Orange County at this time (a practice which continues to this day). On November 9, 1899, Harry Wesselink acquired a Colt 45 Pistol from Averill Harriman for $25 cashier’s check payable to “Harry Wesselink/N/A” at 100 South Coast Highway in Huntington Beach (this particular handgun is now part of Museum Of Firearms collection). This transaction marked another important milestone as it becomes our earliest reference to someone buying a pistol outright rather than bargaining or purchasing multiple pistols over time like many future Gun Givers did! In addition to these transactions we also have several records involving individuals who donated handguns to local organizations such as The American Legion Post #1908 (later become The San Diego County Crime Commission) or The Hollywood Yacht Club (later become OCological Society). It should be noted that these donations occurred well before any action was taken regarding gun control laws which would later play a large role during World War II.

Newport Beach, California is a city in Orange County, California, United States. The population was 31,827 at the 2010 census. It is located on the coast of Southern California and is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Newport Beach has been called one of America's " Riviera Cities". The city was founded in 1915 by George Frazier and myself on 1/2 acre of land that had been owned by his father-in-law Jacob Schiff. We named our new town after my maternal grandfather, Giovanni de' Rossi (1575–1641), who had moved from Venice to Newport Beach in 1892. The first post office opened in 1916 and functioned until 1932. In 1922, we annexed adjacent unincorporated areas to form an all-city municipality with a total population of 362 people. In 1951 the City Council voted to create an amusement park which would be anchored by the now demolished Harbor Park Shopping Center on Newport Boulevard across from Irvine beach and within walking distance of many homesites then being developed near Huntington Drive where I later built my house (originally known as "Shampoo House"). After much lobbying from residents, including Mayor Robert Fenton and SoCal Edison Company President Harry Houdini (the founder of Hollywood's first movie theater), Disneyland was born! The park originally consisted only of two theme parks - Main Street USA (1955) and Disneyland ( 1966). The remaining land was used for other attractions such as hotels, restaurants and parking garages while Anaheim Hills became home to numerous high-end homes dating back to before World War II

Newport Beach is a city on the Orange County coast of Southern California. The population was 106,624 as of 2010 census, making it the 29th-largest city in California. It has been home to many notable people and businesses over the years, including rock stars like Bob Dylan and The Stones, actors such as Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Hanks, and business leaders like James L. Brooks and Kevin Plank. The first Europeans to visit Newport were Spanish traders in 1542 who named it San Miguel de Agua Caliente after their flagship ship Santiago de Compostela. In 1821, when California became part of the United States of America, Newport became part of what was then known as Mexico City County. However, Mexican sovereignty over this area ended when the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed in 1848 by US President James K. Polk and Mexican General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. In 1863, during American Civil War efforts to gain control over inland Californias from Confederate forces occupying Santa Ana Valley (now Anaheim), soldiers burned down much of San Miguel de Agua Caliente for eight days while seeking food supplies for their troops stationed at Camp Draeger in nearby Fullerton. After the war ended in 1865, a group of merchants led by Domingo Fajardo set up a trading post on Point Reyes Station with help from local Native Americans in an effort to extend maritime trade into Central America beyond Cape Hornmutual Bay thanks to Spanish explorer Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo's discovery of Baja California Peninsula in 1542–43). In 1870s various land grants were given out including that now encompassing Newport Beach - Perfectionist gifts bestowed upon wealthy individuals wishing to petition US president Grant for exclusive rights within specific geographic boundaries under his "Gift" Act (1871). In 1893 Mayor John Sarnoff bought 125 acres (40 hectares) east of downtown from banker Charles Wickersham for $10 per acre ($160/km2). He donated these acres (today's eastern block off Harbor Boulevard) towards building what would become today's downtown core with its characteristic wide streetscape typical among coastal seaside towns eager to lure tourists away from more remote shorelines during this time period; hence Sarnoff's nickname – "The Seaside Mayor". By 1924 Newport had developed a large African American community which numbered about 1005 residents; however most blacks living there at that time worked within white neighborhoods adjacent to South Coast Plaza shopping center across Harbor Boulevard from where they could purchase goods available only at full price inside that complex alongside other stores owned by white businessmen operating along similar lines throughout south Orange County...
Newport Beach was founded in 1892 by Capt. George Haven and his wife, Anna. The Havens were the first people to settle in Newport Beach. They built a cabin on the bluff overlooking the harbor. In 1895, they laid out a town square that included a hotel, bakery, and grocery store. The town grew rapidly, and by 1912 it had over 100 residents. The Coast Guard station at Newport News Shipbuilding was moved to Newport Beach in 1924. The United States Navy acquired land adjacent to Main Street in 1927 and began construction of its own shipyard on what is now Wilmington Point National Seashore. That same year, the city of Newport Beach annexed part of neighboring Playa del Rey into its municipal boundaries. In 1950, the U.S.-Australian military base HMAS "Darling" was transferred from Melbourne to Naval Base Iwate in Japan; as a result, Newport Beach's naval sector shrank significantly with only one shipyards remaining for both civilian and military vessels alike (the last being John F Kennedy Presidential Library Fleet Services Building). During World War II, most jobs available within the navy were aboard ships or shore installations such as ammunition storage depots or engine rooms ashore while sailors served aboard battleships off duty or filled administrative positions afloat when their masters were absent at sea However with an increasing demand for naval aviation support which led directly to Pearl Harbor attack Naval Air Station Northrop Field was established nearbyon Angel island during World War II initially providing 2 squadrons of Boeing P-38 Lightning fighters aircraftutes Nightfighters USAAF commanded By Col John L McDermott RAF became operational from 1944 until 1948 when all night operations ended due To economic reasons new squadron Commander decommissioned after loss of equipment during Cold War era . During Korean War service Squadron Commander HMS "Thornberry" provided air cover for USAF ground forcesyoutu . After cease fire planes returned to Japanese mainland but Thornberry continued flying Ops until withdrawn from service in 1969
