The United States Air Force is one of the most powerful air forces in the world. The USAF has over 120,000 personnel and operates more than 260 aircrafts. It is responsible for providing international security and defense, conducting operations in phases from deterrence to joint operations. One of the USAF's oldest organizations is the Military Airlift Command (MAC). MAC was established on 1 October 1947 as a merger of three bomber commands: Tactical Air Command (TAC), Strategic Air Command (SAC), and Airlift Command (ACC). At its peak in 1969, MAC had 811 aircrafts stationed at more than 50 locations worldwide. Today, it employs approximately 62,000 people across 16 states and Washington D.C. In Norco, California; MAC's Headquarters Unit origins date back to World War II when the United StatesAAF set up an airfield called "Norco" at that location to provide support for landings on Kwajalein Atoll during World War II. The Provisional Wing which was activated on 14 December 1942 under Second Lieutenant Harold Eaves became operational on 8 January 1943 under First Lieutenant Clarence Wecht when USAAF Commander General George C Marshall directed Third Air Force commander Major General Leslie Riddle to place commando units ashore immediately after taking control of Pacific theatre from Admiral Kimmel following his successful Sea Landings off Kwajalein Atoll 9 November 1941 On 15 September 1945, Headquarters unit moved from "Norco" to Fairbanks AFB AK untilactivated due to lack of appropriations in 1948 while other subordinate wings continued operation until their respective bases were closed by 1972 with all but two wings being reactivated as part of CONUS structure

Norco Air Force Base, home to the Norco Air National Guard, is one of the most active airfields in the United States. Since its establishment as a military base in 1941, Norco has been a major center for operations during World War II and the Cold War. The base also features an airplane manufacturing plant and numerous missile sites. The Norco AFB community includes over 3,000 people who work at various installations within the base.
Norco, California is a small city in the Central Valley of California. The population was 5,816 at the 2010 census. It is located in Fresno County. The first European to visit Norco was Captain Juan Rodriguez de la Hoz on November 6, 1769 during his exploration of the area and named it Nuevo Rey de California (New Spain). After Mexican independence from Spanish rule in 1821, Norco became part of Californios (Californians) and adopted their language as its official language. In 1848, gold was found near Norco and Soon after many businesses were established to exploit the gold rush era but only a few survived into the new century. By 1961, over half of all businesses in town had closed and most residents had left for better opportunities elsewhere. The current name of Norco came about when entrepreneur Jack Norris purchased land east of town and created a community called "Norcore" which served as a model for later towns throughout central California such as Susanville and Petaluma. When he died in 1978 his wife applied for permission to change the name to "Norco". The City Controller granted her request on May 30th 1979. As with most things within central California's history there are multiple stories behind why Norco received its current name: 1) A local rancher who grazed his cattle on what is now downtown Noroco grew tired of always having to round up their cows from behind their barns; so he suggested giving them away free if anyone wanted one; this started an ongoing tradition that still occurs today 2) One day while out walking along Broadway Street someone asked where they could buy some water; soNoroco became known as "the Watertown" because that's where most people bought water until more recent times 3) Sometimes people would go door-to-door asking for donations so they could build their own house or simply provide shelter during tough times like plagues or fires; these days you can find noroco residents living all around Southern CA
The United States Air Force (USAF) has a rich airforce history that goes back to World War I. In 1916, the USAAF was founded as the American Volunteer Group (AVG), which quickly became a major player in World War I. The AVG played an important role in the Battle of Saratoga and other engagements, and helped to secure America’s victory over Great Britain. After the war, the AVG was disbanded and its members were merged into the United States Army. However, on 9 December 1919, President Woodrow Wilson signed Executive Order 8802 creating the USAF as an independent branch of government with headquarters at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. The first USAF planes were delivered to America in late 1920. During World War II, America's military aviation system was transformed into one of unparalleled size and capability. Over 100 different aircraft types were built by both civilian and military manufacturers; RAF Spitfires alone accounted for more than 60% of all RAF combat losses during WWII. At home, American pilots flew 1 million combat hours in excess of any other country during WWII; this number includes deployments throughout North Africa and Europe as well as operations over China and Japan. Additionally, many Allied countries relied upon American air power to provide support during their wars – including Burma/Myanmar (1946–1949), Italy ( 1943–1945 ), Spain ( 1936–1939 ), Greece ( 1941–1944 ), Denmark ( 1945 ), Yugoslavia ( 1944–1945 ), Australia ( 1942 ), New Zealand ( 1942 ), Norway( 1940 ) – making American aviation one of the most prominent forces within wartime allied armies. In recent years, USAF aircraft have been used extensively against terrorist threats across multiple theaters around the world; such operations include Operation Neptune's Spear – which led to Osama bin Laden's demise – Operation Enduring Freedom – which targets Taliban militants – Operation Iraqi Freedom – which target Daesh militants –Operation Pillar Of Defense – which supports Kurdish Peshmerga rebels fighting against ISIS militants near Mosul ———————— Despite these challenges posed by today’s global battlefield environment,[1] USAF aircraft continue play an important role within our defense posture[2], engaging adversaries wherever they are found.[3][4] On 7 November 2017,[5] US Airways Flight 11 crashed into Pennsylvania after takeoff from Lambert-St Louis Airport due to engine failure shortly after takeoff from JFK Airport following Hurricane Irma.[6][7][8][9] All 259 passengers and crew survived without injury but lost all four engines on board causing $200 million worth of damage including more than 20 percent loss of life insurance for those loses direct family members aboard.[10] As a result of this tragedy United Airlines suspended all flights within Florida until further notice due to safety concerns resulting from Hurricane Irma.[11][12][13]

Norco is a small, rural town in Kern County, California. It was founded in 1887 by the husband and wife team of investors, H.W. Norco and Lillie Davenport Norco. The two were instrumental in the growth of Kern County as a agricultural community and contributed heavily to its development as a major center of population, commerce, industry, and education. The town has been called "the most beautiful place on earth" for many years and is home to some of the most significant historical sites in Kern County. Among these are the Norco Cemetery (established in 1892), the Norco Opera House (opened in 1913), and the Norris Theater (built in 1927). The Norris Theater is one of only a few remaining examples of pre-war movie theaters built specifically for use in agriculture. Norco also contains an extensive collection of periodical publications dating back to at least 1886. These include issues of The Overland Monthly, Southern Pacific Railroad Magazine, and Californian Weekly newspapers from both before and after California's incorporation into the United States as a state in 1850.
