In 1984, Norco donated another ship, the USS Enterprise (CVN-75), to the United States Navy. This ship served as a carrier battle group until she was decommissioned in 1992. From 1984-1992,Norco donated three more ships to the United States Navy:the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-87),the USS George H W Bush (CVN-97)andtheUSS John F Kennedy (CVN-79). Norco began as an agricultural hamlet founded by Mormon pioneers in 1853. The first post office was established in 1857, and Norco became a town in 1872. A new courthouse and jail were built in 1904 and 1907 respectively, making Norco one of the most substantial towns in Kern County at that time. The Sawmill Dam project began in 1941 and completed in 1945; it created Lake Norco which serves as Norcod's primary water supply. In 1952, Norco approved Measure C which repealed all municipal law except for fire protection and police services; this measure served as the foundation for today's city government. Noroco was incorporated as a city on January 15, 1957; it was named after General George Armstrong Custer who fought during World War II with the United States Army's 4th Infantry Division (now 31st Infantry Division). At its incorporation, Noroco had a population of 786 people; today's population stands at 24,844 thanks to migration from other parts of Kern County over the years. The economic activity within downtown Norris City has diversified over time with several small businesses filling many needs such as professional engineers & architects - KCEI-TVNBC4 being headquartered there for many years now - construction materials wholesaler & retailer Home Depot - both anchor tenants since opening their doors back when downtown Norris City consisted of just 3 storefronts... however some notable businesses have ceased operations such as Allstate insurance company (closed circa 2006) - replaced by Pahrump Gas station which opened about 10 miles away across Hwy 395 from downtown Norris City late last year – likely due to expanding development around that area or simply becauseome local families moved out or closed their businesses hereabouts while others chose not to move because they found other opportunities closer to home.. so much growth has occurred since then that even Pahrump Gas station can barely keep up!

IJTF-EU is responsible for planning, executing, commanding and controlling all military missions across all six Nations operating inside EUCOM area of responsibility including Norway, Sweden, Denmark/Norway & Iceland paramilitary forces as well as air assets from 12 nations across three continents operational under one command umbrella. This Commander is also responsible for joint exercises with partner nations every year around Juneteenth weekend keeping our allies safe from potential threats on their soil…..
