The station was used to provide harbor security and protect the town from piracy. In 1916, a new station was built at present-day Point Loma and the name was changed to Oakley Station. In 1940, the Coast Guard Auxiliary was formed and it became known as the Coast Guard Pacific Fleet Auxiliary. In 1951, an annex was added to Oakley Station and it became known as Annex #1. The annex housed a Radar School which operated from 1954-1960. In 1961, Annex #2 was established and it became known as Annex #2A. The annex housed a Marine Barracks which operated from 1959-1966. In 1969, Annex #3 was established and it became known as Annex #3A. The annex housed a helicopter hangar which operated from 1966-1970. In 1974, Annex #4 was established and it became known as Annex #4A. The annex housed a weather station which operated from 1975-1978. In 1978, another annex (Annex #5)was established and it became known as Annex#5A-. This annex housed additional office space including a Control Room which served both theshore stations withinOakleyandthe adjacent towns of Carlsbadanetownand Miramarixon until 1984 when those municipalities severed their relationships with Oakley Station effective January 1st of that year due to budget cuts within the CGPF.. These cutbacks left the Oaklandport Harbor without an auxiliary port watchtower for more than four years during much of that time no weather reports were received or sent out due to lack of funding available by then newly created Contra Costa County Department of Forests & Fisheries! During this time thereportedly occurred several large fires along public coastline near Carlsbadadonutsouthwest sideofOakleyshoreincludingoneintheyear preceding our closure!! Despite these difficulties one set of commendable effortsoccurredduringthistimewhen Padre Manuel Avila donated his single engine Piper PA36 jet aircraft(serial number N8MNA)totheOakleyshoreservicein ordertocoverupflooded areasassociatedwith high waves Drafty Creek on San Pablo Bayou southof PointConception! This plane never flew again but its memory lives on thru donations madeby others subsequent thereto such asthe donationofseveralcopters towithoutrotorsbyPeteAnderssontotheBaywatch FoundationfortheshootingofthedebrisfromKatrina!!! In 1987 another new wing facilityadditionwasmadetoAnnex#5A( resultingincodename WOODSIDE).Thisnew wingfacilityservedasamilitary barracksforlawenforcementofficersuntil1991whenitwascloseddue totransportationisabilityissueswithinthenewark structure! Oakley, California is a city in Ventura County, California, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 17,812. The Oakley School District is one of the most populous in Ventura County and has 1,079 students enrolled in grades K-12. The area now known as Oakley was first settled by Europeans in 1849 as part of Rancho Santa Anita and became part of Los Angeles County on April 15, 1912. On December 14, 1914 the town of San Pedro opened its doors to all who wanted to come and found their own community near what is now downtown Ventura. In 1932 an act by then-Governor Earl Warren designated the area east of Interstate 5 as a “Awaiting City” for residents who were waiting for developments along I-5 or at other points within 10 miles (16 km) of any major city in California which would be developed as a result of General Motors’s $1 billion investment in that region known as "the Five Cities". In 1935 this designation changed to “Oakley” after then Mayor Harry W. Linkman petitioned Governor Frank Murphy for it and met with great success; over 100 people applied for incorporation into the new community including many well-known civic officials and business leaders from throughout Southern California such as Mayor James Atherton and Supervisor Willis Hester. The first public meeting held on October 17th 1935 resulted in the selection of a Board Of Directors with Mr. Linkman Chairman and Mrs. Linkman Vice Chairmen; President Harry Wylie Secretary Treasurer; Mr.-Majors Lewis Burdick Dr.-Colonel George Capper Jr., Jnr., Clarence Fenton carpenter/electrician/mechanic store owner upon recommendation from State Superintendent John Lyle Smith; Al Upchurch druggist & grocery store proprietor ; Mrs.-Mrs.(estimate) Beatrice Haggerty milliner . On May 20th 1936 voters passed an ordinance ratifying the appointment of Captain Edward Fenton (served until his death on February 12th 1946) to be mayor pro tempore with powers similar to those currently vested in justices Court judges thereby creating a full fledged government much like that found today within our cities and towns across America under term limits set by our Founding Fathers during their time when democracy was at its peak! From this day forward we proudly call ourselves “The Town That changelessly Was”! . Today Oakley has seen rapid growth due largely to its proximity to both Downtown Ventura and South Coast Plaza shopping centers while still remaining committed to being an independently run community values based on responsibility group management system governed through elected officials appointed through open nominations process that allows citizens input whatsoever pertaining to budgeting, programming etcetera keeping our communities informed about trends & initiatives affecting their neighborhoods without having prior knowledge or control over them!

Oakley, California is a small town in the southern San Joaquin Valley of California. It was founded in 1853 by John T. Oakley and his wife Anna. The first post office was opened in 1865. The population of Oakley peaked at 997 in 1930, but has declined since then.Today, the community has a population of around 180 people. Oakley is one of several towns located near the Southern Pacific Railroad line that still function as rural communities today. The town's history can be traced back to 1853 when John T. Oakley and his wife Anna established what is now known as "theoakleys" homestead on land they had acquired from David Horseshoe Rancho de las Aguas Calientes de Santa Clara County, Mexico east of present-day Hayward, California. In 1870, Anna gave birth to their only child and named him John T., Jr., after her father's death two years earlier from tuberculosis (a disease at that time very common). The settlement slowly grew due to its location close to the railroad lines and access to water resources which made it an attractive place to build a home or township. By 1915, there were over 100 residents living in Oakley Township alone with 2 churches, 8 schools (including one for girls), 2 stores and 1 garage providing services such as groceries shopping and repairs/maintenance for homes on nearby farmssteads throughout much of the 20th century until social engineering reforms during World War II led many farmers into moving away from rural society onto large ranches- resulting in overall shrinking populations within each township over time while larger townships grew larger economically with more infrastructure) . In 1930 there were just 81 residents living inOakley Township while annexed by Hayward Municipal Borough; however by 1990 there were 171 active inhabitants including 12 businesses catering to the needs of their constituents who rely mostly upon agriculture including hay production accounting for almost all economic activity outside government services In recent years growth rates have slowed somewhat although this does not mean that there are no challenges facing Oakleys' future; indeed most pressing issues include addressing housing affordability which remains an issue for both current residents and potential newcomers alike given high costs associated with housing developments within walking distance or short drives from any grocery store or service center
