Oakley is a small town in the Stanislaus County, California area. It was first settled in 1852 by German immigrants. The first coffee house established in Oakley was the Kaffeehaus (now the Coffee House) on Main Street. The first roasting of coffee beans took place at a well-known farmstead near where Oakley now stands. In 1865, J.B. Hatton and his family began to roast coffee under their own name at their home on High Street in Oakley. By 1870, they had built a large and successful business, exporting their coffees all over the United States and Europe. In 1899, John Fenton opened up his own roastery/café called "Fenton's". This cafe became one of the most popular tourist spots in Oakley and enjoyed high patronage for its fresh roasted beans and delicious pastries made from local flour tortillas

Oakley, California is a small town located in the Mono County of southern California. The population was 2,851 at the 2010 census. Oakley is part of the Bakersfield, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area. It has a warm and dry climate that supports agriculture and ranching as well as a variety of local businesses. The first Europeans to explore Oakley were two naturalists, Juan Rodríguez Caballero and Gaspar Cortés, on July 27, 1769 A.D. They were looking for a passage through the mountain chain on their way to Mexico City. In 1824 an American named Augustus Earle discovered gold near what is now known as downtown Oakley when he prospected for gold in the area. A post office was established in 1828, and by 1830 there were twenty residents living in Oakley; four years later it had grown to fifty-eight people with one store and several hundred acres of land leased from ranchers. An adobe building was built in 1850 to serve as courthouse which burned down in 1861 but was rebuilt within a few months using funds from Ulysses S Grant who became president that year. The first school opened up in 1865 with eight students attending grades one through twelve; it closed due to lack of money about 1880 but reopened again around 1900 under new management before finally closing again around 1915 due to economic problems brought on by World War I fuel shortages and other factors The first doctor practicing medicine here arrived here circa 1892: Drs John Pemberton (1857-1932) and Halsey Blythe (1860-1936). After World War II many families left for various reasons including jobs in nearby cities like Bakersfield or Claremont because of low prices for farmland during those years; however, over time many have returned home because of its scenic beauty combined with easy access to education and good job opportunities outside the city limits today Today Oakleys largest employer is its government with such agencies as county probationary services (#1), social Services (#2), library services (#3), public works (#4) and fire department #5 which Serve all townships within Mono County including downtown Oakley

In central Oakley there are several small hills that rise abruptly from deep water: Big Hill (4,898 feet/1,423 m), Little Hill (4,202 feet/1,187 m), and Treadway Hill (3 UR/2 MO). These hills represent some of the highest points within Kern County limits as well as within easy driving distance of both Salinas and Monterey Bay Provinces
