Oceanside is a city located in San Diego County, California. As of the 2010 census, the population was 67,597. The City of Oceanside was incorporated on April 14, 1907. The name comes from the Spanish word "ocean," meaning "water." In 1909, the first post office opened in Oceanside and mail continued to be delivered by horse and buggy until 1936 when a new annex became available at Tenth Street and Harbor Drive. In 1951, an expressway connected Interstate 5 with Oceanside.
