In 1951, Sergeant Ralph Ladd became the first police officer to receive a COPY machine from General Electric Company (GE). Sergeant Ladd used this machine to make copies of arrest records for use by officers working out of their patrol cars or stations. The copier also allowed officers to print criminal complaints and warrants easily without having to leave their car! In 1978, Detective Doug McGrath became the first law enforcement officer ever awarded an OC POLICE t-shirt as part of Thank You For Your Service program!Detective McGrath retired from active duty with OCPD on December 31st, 2011 after more than 20 years dedicated thereto! The town never really thrived after that; however, developers built several thousand homes here during the late 19th century including some of California’s first purpose-built streetcar suburbs such as Mayfair and Villa Park which are now among Hollywood’s most popular tourist destinations." Today's downtown area includes many restored old buildings dating back to 1847 as well as many contemporaneous commercial buildings dating from both before World War II (late 19th century) as well as recent periods (early 21st century). Downtown also houses government agencies (such as the Department of Motor Vehicles), several high technology companies (including Apple Inc.), three professional sports teams (the LA Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and San Francisco 49ers), two major retailers/cafes (/Panera Bread & Starbucks), more than twenty-five cultural attractions including three theaters/Dramas with over $100 million in box office receipts each year since 1997 (!), large parks/landscapes complete with openair concerts and world-renowned shopping malls such as Staples Center (), Regal Cinemas (), OneCalifornia () - home of Californian film critics -and numerous restaurants collectively known variously as OC's Top Ten Restaurants (), etc., etc., etc.; virtually every amenity one might reasonably hope for or expect within walking or biking distance of any given address currently available anywhere within downtown streetscape without ever having to leave one's doorstep... [and] there are no plans whatsoever by either Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa or any member of his staff or indeed anyone associated with City Hall to reduce services related to tourism, recreation, business development or transportation while maintaining essential public services like firefighting paramedic response times remaining incredibly short even on busy weekend nights... Anaheim has only grown more congested while Orange has shrunk away...[city limits] have done nothing except increase crime rates""

The history of Orange County, California can be traced back to the early 1800s. The area that is now Orange County was part of Spanish land grants given to American soldiers and settlers during the Mexican-American War. In 1821, a group of Mormon missionaries traveled from Nauvoo, Illinois, and founded a town called Cumorah in what is now Anaheim Hills. In 1836, Orange County was established as one of twelve counties in California under the new state government. The county seat was at Anaheim but it moved to Santa Ana in 1849. After statehood, Orange Countys population grew rapidly due to agricultural production and immigration from China and other parts of Asia. In 1907, the city of Anaheim became an independent city within Orange County when it seceded from the county. In 1923, Disneyland opened as the first theme park in Southern California and has since become one of the most popular tourist destinations in America. During World War II, many thousands of Japanese Americans were forced into concentration camps within or near orangecounty boundaries. Many residents died in these camps during the war years; however, there is no evidence that any oranges were taken from those who lived within or near them during this time period
