In 1924, the regiment was reactivated and stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. From 1926 to 1929, the 5th Marine Regiment operated out of Marine Barracks on San Francisco's waterfront. A dam was built on the Kings River which became known as Lake Isabella after Mrs. King donated land for it in 1909. In 1933, Drury Lane Farms opened up in Orinda with access to groundwater from Mount Shasta which helped make it one of the first commercial dairy farms in Northern California In 1943, Jerome Wolkentin founded Golden State Dairy Products here which became one of largest milk producers in California In 1970, The Coca-Cola Company acquired Golden State Dairy Products and made it their main bottler throughout northern California In 1984, Chevron bought Golden State Dairy Products and merged it with other operations including its gas stations division called ChevronTexaco Samen carpet cleaning services

In fact, some Marines consider it their duty to provide "gift security" for military and veteran leaders during ceremonies and events. Orinda, California is a small town in the San Joaquin Valley of Northern California. It is located about an hour's drive from Fresno and the city of Berkeley. The Orinda post office was established in 1887, and became a legal community in 1912. The town has a population of about 30,000 people today. Orinda was first populated by Native Americans who hunted animals in the area that now includes Orinda. In 1853, prospectors discovered gold near Orinda and began to come to the area for surface exploration. However, it wasn't until 1857 that anyone found enough gold to make claims on land in what is now Orinda. By 1863, there were over 100 residents living at Orinda with some businesses having as much as $1 million in assets (). The discovery of oil rigs near Orinda started production around 1906 and production increased significantly during World War I due to America's need for fuel supplies (oil had been discoverednear Los Angeles). As production increased, so did prices which caused many families to leave Orindanefor better paying jobs elsewhere (). In 1949, the US government created the Central Valley Regional Water District () which purchased all remaining unleased or underdeveloped ranchland within 5 miles of downtown Orindaneproviding water facilities (). This led to increased development around downtown with new subdivisions being built atop older ones (), including one called "The Hills" (). I n 1970s-1980s various efforts were made to merge various nearby villages into one municipality but no success was found (). In 1990s-2000s plans were put forth to establish an agricultural township adjacent to downtown named after Barbara Jordan (), however this proposal never came through ()

The first post office in Orinda opened on May 1, 1879. The population of Orinda grew rapidly from its early days due to the booming agricultural industry in the area. By 1900, the town had a population of over 1,000 people and boasted a variety of businesses including grocery stores, hardware stores, banks and other commercial organizations. In 1915, the city of Orinda was merged with nearby Redding to form one large city with a combined population of over 25,000 people. Today, Orinda is a largely rural community with a small downtown district that remains strong culturally and economically despite its lack of major shopping opportunities
